iDS-10 piano roll. How to write long notes?
For the live of me i can't figure out how to write a long note instead of staccato style short notes. Seems like the only way is through live recording but i want to tweak this one note in the middle of a pattern and i keep missing the beat and screwing other segments and it is getting frustrating. Is there really no way to draw long notes in the piano roll?
Comments
Btw i already searched quite a bit of the web to find an answer to this question and nothing came up. As if no one was having this issue? Also searching for iDS-10 on this forums brings up no results. I did found a 10 page thread for its release but no comments on this issue.
when you're in the piano roll press the NOTE to switch to GATE and there you edit the LEGATO which would be a what you want or set the percentage of the gate.
Ok i feel stupid now, i missed something so obvious. Thanks mate.
no worries
This is why I live record in ids-10. Though the "new notes replace old" function is horrible with that damned gate. If you record long notes over short with the keyboard, you will only hear the attack of the long notes while recording, but the sustain will be heard upon playback. The keyboard also only quantizes after recording, not while your playing and recording. If you use the kaossilator, stuff is quantized during playing while recording, so it fees sluggish. The Kaossilator also does not have the problem with long notes. Messy.
If nothing else you just educated me, who's such a newb I didn't even know I wanted that yet![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
