Midi help with using keyboard apps live - midiflow?
I want to run various apps (Galileo Organ, iSymphonich Orchestra, Thor etc), but I need a front end app to control them in a live keyboard set up - not editing the sounds themselves as I can go into each app for that, but choosing what apps to hear - eg, hammond, strings, rhodes, pads etc almost like a mixer (mutes, volume etc). Midi flow seems to do it all brilliantly technically, but has a very poor live interface. Anyone have any ideas?

I would recommend checking out IMIDIpatchbay- it's made by the same developer as Midiflow but is designed specifically for live performance and will let you control multiple apps from one keyboard with splits/filters while sending program changes to change patches in each app. Also you can create setlists to easily go from one set of sounds to the next.
Great - thanks for tip. Also giving AUM a try
Yeah cool let us know how you get on! I'm interested to see how AUM stacks up.
AUM is a good choice as you can even use MIDI to mute/unmute channels and you can also do keyboard splits in the app by specifying different note ranges. A combination of Midiflow and AUM might give you the most flexibility. In Midiflow you can create new routings filter out notes or MIDI CC, and transpose notes. These new routings can then be used in AUM to send to whatever combination of apps you want.
You'd definitely need to set things up in advance to make sure it will go smoothly before you play live.
It might even be good to load AUM into Audiobus outputs to get the benefit of state saving for the audio portion.
