Loopy HD: possible to record a new loop which is muted?

The idea here is to use Loopy for a live performance, building up various parts of a song. At one point in the song, a new drum pattern and keyboard fill come in at the same time. I was wondering if I could record the keyboards without having them sound (while other stuff is playing) then unmute the loop when I start recording the drum part, so drums/keyboards come into the song together.

  • yes, have a look at the recording actions available by midi. never figured out how to use them via touch.

  • I think what you want is the monitoring switch turned "off" during a specific stretch of time. This mutes the live input. This can be set up as a MIDI binding, called "toggle monitoring" but it is a global setting, not linked to recording a specific loop.

I guess you could get creative and bind the same MIDI event to record a specific loop and also toggle monitoring. Seems workable.
