A Sincere Thank You to Everyone on This Forum

As this year is coming to a close I want to thank Audiobus for creating this forum and to each and every one of you for taking part in it.

I come here every day and it's a beautiful thing.

So many times I have had a problem and a generous person has come along and solved it for me. And the discussion here is always interesting and informative, often funny, and rarely unpleasant.

While the world is dividing into camps and there is so much animosity it's nice to know that we can come together and talk about this thing that we all love. In these times, it's an oasis that I cherish.

Best wishes to all of us in the coming year.

  • Very well said. They say to 'think global but act local' and this is often slanted as a political thesis, but while we are all over the place (globally), and of different stripes politically, no doubt, this place at its best feels very local, a joint where for the most part we leave that other world at the door. It won't last, the nature of online communities and all that, but these are the good old days of it right here and now :)

  • Thanks from me as well!!!

  • Exactly why I love this forum above all others! I will be rather brutally honest. There's no pretentious circle-jerking of pompous wankers here.

Let me tell you. I asked how to do something at one music forum, and instead of helping me, I had a virtual lynch mob gang up on me, calling me a troll, because I dared to ask a simple sound-design question people didn't feel like answering. Other forums deride people regarding their musical tastes rather than give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism on what to do better.

This is the first music forum I've ever stumbled upon online where people are friendly, are open, don't let their musical tastes get in the way of things, are patient enough to explain even the most banal tasks in an app to others without condescendingly telling them "we're not here to spoonfeed you. Go look in the manual yourself," and have a good sense of humour. There's truly a real sense of community here you can't seem to find in other musician forums. This was absolutely proven regarding raising money for Doug (whom I hope is okay). This community is truly a magnificent gift, and I hope it will always remain as such. Thank you all so much. :)

  • Really appreciate the forums too! :D

That about sums it up :)

  • "While the world is dividing into camps"

    ?

The world has been divided into camps for it's entire history, and will most likely continue to be for the foreseeable future.

  • I have to agree with you all. I just joined yesterday and by today, i got resolution to a problem i was facing.
Many thanks to all who helped.

  • I'm also really really happy that we have this marvelous forum!

Thanks to the Audiobus crew that let us talk about wider things then Audiobus, although the Audiobus technology is why we have come so far in the evolution of iOS to be our no:1 music making environment!

Happy christmas and a happy new year all musiclovers!

  • Yes, this is now the ONLY version of social media that I post to, because of what it represents. While we all hold differing views and occasionally argue, most folk here are decent, helpful and a pleasure to interact with.

    United (in music) we stand!

We seldom cross paths in threads, so I have to say...

Good to see you & Happy Holidays & Thanks for the forum and great apps! Ditto for @Michael.

  • I'm noob to this forum but i'm totally agreed with mod and message. I could state it since the day one.

    Merry Xmas everyone!

  • Happy holidays to all :-)

  • Warm words, thanks :)

  • That's so great to hear, you guys. Way to community =D <3

  • I gotta love any place that accepts me....I'm weird lol. In the voice of Cartman - Love u guys :p

  • My daily chillout space

  • Thank you for the beautiful thoughts.

Wishing a happy future for all on this forum and the generous Audiobus folks who provide it.

  • Its so nice of the guys to let us just run wild here.

  • When I went all in with iOS music production a year & half back most of my friends were curious and cool about it, wanted to know the technology, etc. One guy though is very sarcastic & negative towards everything he doesn't use (does it with Fender Strats, etc), just acts douchie, well he sent me this in a text and I laughed, let it go, because I know that perception is not reality.

The members of the forum & the admins all deserve thanks from me because I've learned so much from everyone, not just about iOS recording, but music, songwriting and technology in general. For whatever lack of professional quality or whatever else (the size, etc) critics can paint iOS recording up with, this community proves them wrong everyday.

The music made with these new tools & formats are just as vital, professional and "real" as anything recorded on ProTools, Logic, etc. That our format is so mobile and personal is one of it's greatest assets.

Critics or those who dismiss iOS music production need to give one of the top DAWs (Auria, Cubasis, etc) and some good apps a spin and try to make one track, just one, and THEN pass judgement or make dick comments.

Stay on the goodfoot everybody and all the best in 2017... Be cool,

It's not about the tools, it's who is sitting in front of it.
If I have no interesting ideas and nothing to express it doesn't matter if I'm sitting infront of kyma or just an iPad, nothing will come out of it.
If I had nothing but an audio editor and some shit telephone mic, I'm sure I would still come up with something nice, but it would take a very long time.

  • My fave site on the internet. Thanks to all that make it possible. Yes, that's you!

  • Nice one @Reid . I share your sentiments. And thanks for providing this space @Sebastian

  • No matter how hard I try, Mrs Monzo refuses to take any interest in, say, the iVCS3 AU update, or how well it integrates into my AUM workspace. I asked my friends at the pub to help me decide on the recent ModStep purchase - is the entry price worth it for the additional features over existing sequencers I have such as Auxy and Gadget? Would I really use the comprehensive CC modulation functionality, bearing in mind my work was generally abstract soundscape in nature?

Nothing. No help at all. So this forum is a good place to visit and talk about stuff that matters with people who know about the important things.

Appreciative, festival iOS generated jingle bells to all.

Agree with this totally. I've had a hardware studio. I now own just an iPad and some studio monitors. I can say with hand on heart, the only thing I lack now is talent and I've always lacked that lol. Not that I care, music is for everyone and iOS can help everyone enjoy making some music.

Critics who dismiss any music making tools are just missing the point. Making music is about two things - talent and fun. I have one of those ;)
