Great apps for electroacoustic music list.

So, I'm a bit bored, and I'm very much curious to know which apps out there are perfect for mangling and manipulating sound sources for the creation of musique concrete, electroacoustic, soundscapes, and other forms of experimental goodness. I'm going to get the list started with my faves.

-Soundscaper
-Fieldscaper
-Sliver
-Borderlands Granular
-WaveGenerator

  • I don't know what some of that is, but based on whet I do understand and your list I'm gonna suggest Mitosynth, Moebius Lab, and Sugar Bytes effects.

Not sure, but i thought that Stria (by ApeSoft) shares close philosophy even if its not using samples perhaps?

And of course i can't be here without mentioning Jasuto (i'm such a fanboy of it, yeah...) - as it's modular with samples/loops available as module (with granular-alike mode if needed, which is handy to modulate with lfo and whatever), you can do many things to audio sources.

  • Check out some of the apeSoft and Amazing Noises apps. Apps like iDensity, iVCS3, Stria, and Dedalus can get crazy real quick.

  • Sparkle
    iDensity

  • Apesoft/Amazing Noises (basically the same team) rules B)

  • Samplr, Ipulsaret and Idensity.

Check aSlicer, and Pika_loop. There was one called Sound-Mashine....

  • I love that list.
How about Sparkle? That's pretty cool. And can't Nave accept audio to be further mangled?

  • Sliver just went on sale as well. Does this offer anything different from Borderlands or Sparkle or the rest of the lot?

  • The Apesoft/Amazing Noises are electroacoustic musicians, which probably explains their apps. Really all of their stuff is suited to electroacoustic.

There's also Richard Boulanger's stuff, but I've never used it (hasn't been updated in years).

  • Any Amazing Noizes apps
    Any Erik Sigth app
Mitosynth and its "precursor" Grain Science
    Droneo SpaceVibe Shoom BitWiz
    Any app that can speed up a sound source or s l o w i t d o w n

  • Thank you all so much for the feedback. :) So, I went and got iDensity, iPulsaret, Sparkle, Stria, Dedalus, and Droneo. Moebius is next on my list of "to gets" and probably the last for a good while given I have plenty of apps to learn the inner workings of.
