I'd also love to see more 'Logic Pro X' features ported over to Garageband, better editing of midi/midi-cc.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I mean it's so easy to just use the transient detection in LogicPro X and turn a loop into 'pads'.
UltraBeat would be a nice addition to and give elastic drums/dm-2 and other 'drum synths' some healthy competition
I'd like to see AU hosts finally get AU parameter automation. We're going to need it.
I'd like to see improved launch visuals for Oscilab and Impaktor on iOS10. and for a few other apps.
On that note, I'd like to see the apps that launch into the same old irrelevant un-chosen patch each time to stop doing that - it's silly, and must stop now. Stop it.
Agreed, it's kinda annoying...
'Last Used' should imho be de-facto standard with option to start up with a 'random' patch/preset.
That would be nice and imho Apple should set an example and transform GarageBand into a fully feature AUv3 host so developers would have a proper 'test bed' for the plug-ins they develop.
We never know how much changes WWDC'17 will bring so shooting for full AUv3 'host' now could turn into a disaster...
Can you elaborate on this?
Is this a limitation of the AU spec on iOS or has it simply not been implemented by the hosts?
No, hosts simply haven't implemented it. It's essentially the same as on MacOS, so nothing new and fancy. Hosts just need to put a 'listener' on the AU parameter so the host gets a notification when the user twiddles a knob on the screen. Store the new value. Done.
MIDI CC is fine as a fallback; but AU parameters are so much nicer because MIDI CC can only be recorded from external MIDI controllers, not from the onscreen GUI. And AU parameters have descriptive names instead of numbers.
I'd like to see AU hosts with fast access sliders and knobs that can be assigned to the AU CC values of the different AUs being hosted. Multiple CCs per knob or slider would be nice too.
Double post
This.
I always test against GarageBand.
It's a drag to test against all hosts and their ideosyncrasies.
I wonder how long we have to wait for apple having a second look at multitasking on iOS.![:s :s](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confounded.png)
It's a sad joke on iPads and I am losing patience.
Slideover just keeps opening the last opened app from there.
What the hell are they thinking?
No wonder there isn't much of that stuff, it's totally unusable like that.
A surprise, maybe?
@JohnnyGoodyear
A surprise is definitely coming, always.
hmmm.... What do you mean ? I have it on my ipad, with everything I've ever purchased, same with 3 of my ipods. My kids love that synth. My 9 year old I think knows how to do more with it than i do. lol.....
Not so much new apps, but I'd love to see iSpark become AU. My other wish is to see that big gap at the bottom of Model 15 filled with something tasty![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
Would like this too. Doesn't actually bother me though; all of my hardware synths with memory load patch 00 when I turn it on. Been that way since my Juno 106 in 1988.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Or a way to limit which apps appear there similar to notifications, geolocation, etc.
I hope both Roland and Yamaha step up the ante in 2017.
AUv3 support for iOS Soundcanvas would be sweet and more synths from Yamaha without 'hardware locks'.
I also hope that Korg keeps up the good work with Gadget and adds the much requested features. I know they can do it and throw in a few surprises too...
On the other hand I've got so many apps already I might do myself a favour and 'clean up' the iPad and focus on a few apps... Like that is going to happen hahaha.....
2017 the year of 'real' priced apps that dont need IAPs to be commercially viable, oh wait, that is not an app, it is userswilling topay what an app is actually worth (never going to happen, i know)
An AU physical modeling piano. That's all I ask! Oh and more gadgets.
I'd like Moebius Lab to host Au, MidiSequencer updates apparently coming soon, would like triqtraq to get landscape/portrait and MIDI, always dream LaunchKey will get an update... new version of Synthmaster is coming, hope it will be more akin to its desktop counterpart - it's still a fun app, but the desktop version is incredible., hope Apple will bring on Web MIDI/Audio, Link in Mr. Kerns' apps and perhaps MIDI-Lfo's as an Au-FX, and some Gui overhaul. Mira.net just launched, not sure the details yet... but I have Mira and would like to see what can done w/ Max via iOS. Bluetooth 5 should be hitting sometime before the end of '17 - if it's connectionless and has the packet size bandwidth the spec claims it will be a viable/stable wireless connection enabling a more tactile sound shaping environ. I kinda wish Launchpad would allow selecting as many pads in a column/row as I want - but maybe that's a bad idea, dunno. And thinking random thoughts, Studiomux could be updated - like the keyboard, maybe add Bluetooth channels, get a MIDI/SysEx Monitor and handle Transport/MTC/SysEx/Program Changes, and even Ableton Export on a Master channel or something. And given Modstep's good MIDI environment I'd like it to handle the program change/transport/MTC/SysEx as well - maybe even Audio. And if I'm dreaming I'd like to see the BeatStepPro Desktop Editor ported to an iOS app... that would be slick.
Something awesome from Antelope Audio for ios
New Drum machines/sequencers in general as AU. With their own built in sequencers that sync to the host clock.
I don't pretend to expect existing standalone drum machines to be adapted to AU. But some new developers with AU vision would be nice.
A Patterning type AU would be righteous.
I'd like to see AASs plugins particularly strum ported into an AU.
Agree
This.
why is it taking so long?. just basic compatibility with the screen size, taking advantage of the extra resolution, a few more tracks visible on the screen would be fine... I'm not even thinking of a major redesign (which obviously would take longer and I'm not sure it would be worth the extra effort from the developers)
+1
Actually, +1 for a shitload of apps...
Samplr update.> @OscarSouth said:
90 percent of the reason I check the forum.
Not holding my breath, but playground with sample import would be nice. I'd pay more for that as an IAP than I ever would buying its packs.
