Auria Pro - Can I do this?
Tried looking this up, but there is just so much info on the AP forum but can't locate the answer to my specific question. Okay, what I hope it is possible to do is this;
- Select part of a track.
- Fade Volcano 2 FX in and then out of that selection, without affecting the rest of the track.
I'm probably just doing it wrong, so a quick how to - or you can't do that matey - would be appreciated.

Volcano doesn't have a wet/dry control so it's not quite as straightforward as it could be. Ideally you could just use the standard Auria automation and modulate the wet control.
The easiest thing would be to put Volcano on an AUX send and automate the AUX level. The trouble is that will always mix some dry signal in. To avoid that you could create two tracks, one with Volcano and one without, and automate the volume faders.
Otherwise, if you have a fairly simple filter set up in Volcano you could set up an XLFO to modulate the frequency, and use the Auria automation to control the mix level of the XLFO.
volcano has dry/wet fader and you can make any automation with it
Ah OK, I've never found it. Can you post a screengrab to show where it is?
@richardyot
Mix - bottom right. Tap on it. Dial opens.
Thanks chaps. I understand using a separate track for the FX section, but not getting if it's possible to select/ mark just a portion of a track and have that alone affected? So far, when I've tried that the entire track ends up being altered.
Use automation. I do it all the time. The dry/wet knob is what you want to use.
Never saw that - thanks!
You have to use automation to do that.
Okay, automation it is. Back to Auria School for me. Thanks all for putting me on the right track.
On the channel you will see two buttons labelled "r" and "w". The r stands for Read, and the w for Write. Press down both the buttons, and while the track is playing move the Mix control at the bottom right of the Volcano window and the movement will be recorded.
Then turn off the w button but leave the r button engaged and the automation will play back.
... and so, you'll want it full on (most likely full - unless you have a reason to further adjust of course) for the clip and off either side.
Wisdom added to my AP file. Thanks.
