app most similar to Beatsurfing?
I understand there are a handful of controller apps. Which one might closely resemble beatsurfing in terms of functionality? Triggering customizable objects that trigger midi notes or CCs with swiping motions. The ability to have different object send on different Midi channels, and atleast some objects that can trigger polyphonically, but not contrained to preset chords and inversions. And the ability to audition all the assignments live while editing without changing screens. Also the ability to not sequence is a must.
Beatsurfing is not too complicated for me, it simply doesn't behave the way it should and it doesn't appear to have been updated in a while. I'm waiting to hear back from the dev, meanwhile i want to explore another option in case...

what does 'the ability to not sequence' mean?
I'm not poking fun, I'm not. Just a weird bin-dipper of language. If I ever write a 'personal ad' I promise to all those assembled here on this day that I will include:
Also the ability to not sequence is a must.
Brilliant.
It means the OP doesn't have the ability to properly convey what he means when desperately posting with a spare minute.
What I should have said is, i wish to trigger midi info with custom objects via gestures, as opposed to building a custom sequencer that triggers, like that of lemur type stuff.
In summary, I'd like to go off the grid. Using a standard sequencer with quantize disabled isn't good enough for me.
I do have work arounds using beatsurfing, but things turn out more cluttered than they need to be. The assignsble behaviors function which make this app shine are not behaving, lol.
It's quite alright to poke fun. I'm used to similar reactions when asking for a car model without automatic windows at the Mercedes dealerships. I cannot afford a new toyota, let alone a Mercedes or BMW, but I enjoy wasting the salesmen's time. It's what I do now to wean myself off trolling the internet. Watch out 2017, a new and improved me is coming!
ah i see, understand better now. Have you requested an update via their Facebook page?
I think it has been abandoned in favor of the more profitable Playgrounds a couple of years ago.
Not their FB, but email. I shall try FB. It's still usable so far. I've been keeping at it, making it work. It's the kind of app where there is more than one way to achieve a desired result, although maybe not as efficiently.
@mschenkel
I suspected the same. Plus they seem to be worKing on a custom touch screen?
Check out the Noiz app. Similar in some ways.
Don't forget the Noiz guys are bringing out "KRFT" i think it's called? Will be like Noiz with customizable layouts and more stuff for people who know stuff.
Appreciate it. I checked it out. Looks fun, but I prefer to roll my own beats and start with a blank canvas.
Perhaps what @db909 is referring to with KRFT will be more up my alley.
