Remix feedback request
Here's a remix of one of my songs. Apps used are: Cubasis, JamUp Pro, iFretless Bass, Sampletank, BS-16i, Nave, AUFXspace, iFretless Sax, Garageband, AudioMaster, and AudioShare. Big production for iOS. 20 tracks!

Really nice work! Great atmosphere. Lovely sounds and nice singing.
Thanks @TCM
Personally, I prefer this version.
I left it up for comparison. The guitar and vocal are the same. But the basic rhythm track was all garageband. The only thing from GB I kept in the remix is the electric piano. I like the remix a lot. But it does say something about the value of GB that you prefer the first one. I'll be interested to hear from others on this. Thanks @PaulB I do value your opinion.
Nice work on both. I'd say I like the remix better. The mastering and different apps brought it out considerably.
Thanks @funjunkie27 I just realized that the one all important app I didn't mention above is AudioBus! Without which I could never have done this. On the first version the only thing I needed Audiobus for was to use JamUp on my guitar. I spent way more time on the remix and I'm really happy with it. Still nothing I've found beats GB for banging out a quick demo.
AudioBus was a given with the apps you used. What parts did you use Sampletank and BS-16i on? GB is pretty good alright.
Sampletank provided the brush snare. BS-16i provided the wind-chimes, and the brush toms. I used to use a whole rack of Proteus modules in my production work so I'm pretty stoked to have the BS-16i for which I've found some of my favorite goto patches.
The iOS scene has certainly changed a lot of things!
Great sound..nice and large compared to the first version and some nice headroom above the mix in the new version..
Thanks @thesoundtestroom really helpful to hear.
both are great work but I'm with @PaulB on this one. I really like the drum track in particular on the first version.
Another vote for GarageBand! Gives me a lot to reconsider. I will probably end up remixing the remix with less "in your face" drums. Thanks for listening.
A few more thoughts: the first version has been on soundcloud for 5 months and has been listened to 94 times, the remix has been up 2 days and has been played 92 times! Back in the 70's when I was recording in Los Angeles an oft repeated rule was "you've got the first 10 seconds of the song to make them want to listen." I think maybe the difference in the opening of the remix may account for why its got so much more attention?
Bear in mind thhat you did post the link for the new one in a few different places and the online iOS music community has grown in the interim. For me, the earlier version was produced with a delicacy and finesse that gave it an intimacy that suited the subject matter and vocal style. The latest version no longer has that quality. More is less here, IMO.
