¡¡¡Mellotronics M3000 Ultimate Edition on Sale Again!!!
This app is on sale again. Someone mentioned it already in the Christmas/New Year sales thread, but enough people expressed regret at missing the sale a few days ago that I thought it worthy of creating a separate thread to call it out right in the subject line. If you have anything beyond a fleeting interest in the Melotron, jump on this now.
The current price is $35.99 (USD).

After years of using soundfonts, and later module, I finally bought this. Thanks @omeniesoftware!
Thanks for the heads up. I'm on it!!
If you like this check out the Jordantron if you don't already have it. It's on sale. I didn't think it would ever go on sale so bought at full price after picking up the M3000 during the last one day sale. It has nice big sounds developed with the folks who made the M3000.
Yay. My iOS app collection is now officially complete.
I got it on christmas eve :-). I like the sounds but the UI is quite aweful and I find it gets stuck every once in a while. Not stuck notes but frozen graphics. Also navigating through all the sounds seems not very straight forward. There doesn't seem to be a way to pick a sound directly from a table. And the banks are a mystery to me too. I think this could definitely use an overhaul.
The frozen UI issue is relatively new, and hopefully will get sorted soon. As for navigating among the tapes, yes, this is a real PITA. Scrollable context menus seem like a simple and effective alternative. I'm guessing Omenie's goal was to get people used to setting up voice banks so the whole scrolling thing is moot.
The pads are handy and fun. I used the opening Melotron stings in King Crimson's "Starless" when learning it at first and was delighted to be able to run through all the chord changes with the glide of my index finger once I had them all set up.
Oh, and before I forget: The knobs are set for linear control, not rotary control, but you have to move your finger horizontally, not vertically. I guess even the digital Melotron isn't without its share of idiosyncrasies.![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Frozen graphics are a recent issue, other than that its really stable as before that it got a major compatibility update but I'm not hopeful about another update coming soon to fix this issue (dont even think of some major overhaul), As the developer takes a while between updates also in a tweet (which I'm unable to find at the moment) he mentions this last update being the last major update to all of his apps.
Don't know what JordanTron cost originally. At $5.99 this is pretty amazing. Spent more than that at Starbucks this morning.
Agreed that the patch selection is atypical given what we're used to. I watched Jordan's intro video and still am not sure how to get back to a patch without tapping the arrows until you get there.
That chord stacking is cool beans though and the sounds are epic.
A little fiddling should ferret everything out.
Man, it sucks cause the Harry Chamberlain tapes are the best sounds, but many are out of tune.
Love, love, love this app![:+1: :+1:](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/+1.png)
THAT ... is authenticity![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Don't get me wrong i still love it. Never have I wanted to use a fake guitar before
Nor have I. That's the best one I've heard though.
Well, if he wants to stick to 74,99€ regular price for this app, he should better keep it maintained
All of a sudden €29,99€ isn't such a great bargain if it means the app will stop working after a few iOS or hardware updates... I do hope the dev will keep this alive and give it some love. Improved graphics would certainly generate more sales for him as well. It just looks cheap and tasteless atm.
