App to make my own samples?
From music library and maybe some synths. Was thinking of using blocks wave, but maybe there is a better app dedicated to making samples? How is the process when sampling drum beats from other music? a Sampler app--->audioshare--->drum machine app(elastic drums f.eks)??
I will start gathering the drums I like, but how about synth sounds or fx, if I isolate one is there a way for an ipad app to make it chromatic without smudging it?
Im looking for old school house sounds like acid detroit jazz chicago drums and synths, any tips on where to get sounpacks full of these on iOS for this?
Thats all my questions, Thankyou so much! ^^

AudioShare itself works pretty well IMO. You can record audio and do basic editing like trimming and normalizing. It's also good for organizing samples and many apps import and export and to AudioShare
@smund Omg Strom is amazing, our pal Doug @thesoundtestroom did a video about it, and here's a whole thread:

I've been using Audioshare a lot with it's hold-autozoom feature for precise cuts.
But Twisted Wave offers a lot more in this domain.
It's exceptionally fast and precise to zoom sections with a hold-swipe up/down gesture.
The cool thing is that you can determine to which side the zoom will move by swiping left or right from the current position.
Markers are auto-numbered but can be renamed to something more meaningful.
TwistedWave is always my number one go to audio app for initial audio capture & edits, but Strom is a whole different animal, not an "instead of", more like an "as well as".
Super cool! Checking out twistedwave and STORM. I can't wait to join the house party. But how about sampling leads from a song i like, is this possible? And then having the full features from synth app afterwards like oscilators and chromatic action and stuff. Am I better off digging for sounds in f.eks sample tank?
I normally get the loop exported (via audio copy) to audioshare where it gets normalised and then open in Samplr or similar.
Normalizing in TwistedWave is way better because you can set the level of the process.
It's the only flaw I found in Audioshare - always does the zero dBfs crap (which I frankly don't understand in such a smart app)
I don't know of an app that will let you sample from the itunes library and has good synth action on top of it. Think you need to think multi-app workflows.
I thought, for sure, when I saw you had replied to this thread there would be a NanoStudio mention. I'm sure you could sample your iTunes library with some creative routing.
@smund Have you tried working in GarageBand? It's a good place to start and iTunes integration is baked in. Once you understand what it can and can't do, you'll be better informed when choosing other apps.
+1 for audioshare, especially as you can record in and the use file player and IAA to add effects to your sample to finish off, trims, fades and snap to loop bpm
Made this sample pack almost entirely in audioshare http://99sounds.org/radiophonic-atmospheres/
Understandable but yeah, no iTunes sampling.
yea, i have been in garage band forever so im moving away from it now. I know how you can cut samples from itunes in a linear daw, but for making a drum kit to use in another app i think no.looking forward to editing my fav samples in elastic drums, i think might be bonkers.
what is file player and IAA to add effects? I'll watch an audioshare tutorial again soon, but just to be shure i dont miss it, what is it?
Basically you can record or copy in to audioshare then you play file internally within Audioshare though other apps to further process. The resulting processed file is then right there in Audioshare. You can also easily arrange audio files in to folders/subfolders which is not the case on most ios stuff

^this one for actual recording audio live
Audioshare / Twisted Wave for all other. No particular formula except that Twisted has advanced edit options. IAP
This is the same for the above Wooji Juice application.
Best overall app I use also is Remaster. Universal and AU as wellas stand alone. Great for many tweaks. I also use Stereoizer a bit and now the Klevergrand stereo app.
Volca Sample / Caustic audio editor is surprisingly great for a free app.
With all other settings as equivalent as I could make them, the same audio event I recorded in AudioShare/Hokusai/TwistedWave/MultiTrackDAW came out sounding by far the cleanest and most true to the original in TwistedWave. The difference gap between them surprised me, and I was able to reproduce the result.
I was unable to track down any reason for the difference, other than the apps themselves.
I recommend doing your own tests to verify.
