SoundCloud (official app) alternative?

Folks, folks, guys, all good people, happy new year.

I was just wondering, does anyone know of a superior app to the soundcloud official app? Often I am seeing links on the board off to soundcloud uploads. Using the iPad, the Soundcloud app loads, but the app doesn't support comymenting at all. It really seems like more of a consumer-oriented app. Open, listen, favourite, that's your lot.

Anyone got any skinny on this?
Cheers!

I wish you hadn't done that. I don't like being reminded about it.

SoundCloud's app is terrible. I seem to remember them saying they were making an app geared towards the artist, but I don't know if it was ever released. Lately, I can't even edit my profile on SoundCloud through Safari on my iPad. Used to work fairly well, now not at all.

  • There is "SoundCloud Pulse" which I think is iphone only. I have it installed, but don't use it,or SoundCloud enough to provide useful feedback.

  • I don't use the app. Just listen in Safari or whatever browser. I try to avoid any app that duplicates what I can do in a browser.

Interesting approach. I guess this was good for keeping free space as high as poss.

Trouble I have with many websites even on the heralded iPad, is the inconsistent performancewith all the different elements on the page. Puts me right off :-(

In the past, Let's say i want to make a track public rather than private.. .... I will open the site in Safari, edit the track info... The info box displays incorrectly in the browser and stubbornly hangs half way off the right of the screen. Frustrating!,

    I've noticed the same!

Thank you! I'll try it out!

  • The best app I can find is "SoundRocket": https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/soundrocket-for-soundcloud/id957116901?mt=8

What I ~really~ want is an app that will omit retweeted songs. There are a number of Chrome extensions that will do this on the fly on the desktop.

I have not found a soundcloud app with this feature.

  • I like it, but unfortunately the main feature I'm after (being able to add comments) is Pro only (£££)
