Wondered if everyone is using it or is there something better? I downloaded the feee version and almost pulled it but went for Fabfilter Pro-L instead. Wondered what everyone is using for editing this Wav files.

  • has the AU fx, is universal, params aplenty, Swiss Army knife for sure

  • Looks like a great app, would one need this if one already has Cubasis 2?

Struggle more with every other editor, keep coming back to this one, you may have seen me say before that my favourite recorded audio results are always from this app, and on the spur of the moment it is a foolproof quick launch live audio recorder as well.

I am unaffiliated with this app. Just a contented happy user.

Yes, Twisted Wave is my App of choice for .wav editing. Fast, super accurate and easy to use. The only other app of this type that I keep around is AudioStretch, which is fantastic for changing speed and reversal.

  • would be great if some features of the OSX version would make it to IOS.
    It's a very smart editor B)

  • There are only two features I miss in TwistedWave but on the other hand I only need to use one of them once in a blue moon and I have other apps to cover the gap, and for the other there are dedicated apps, so it's only a tiny niggle for me.

    And the features are,
    A) When converting a stereo file to mono, having the option of choosing the right channel (I do this in Hokusai, can't figure out how in Ferrite)
    ... and ...
    B) Multi track, maybe? If it is a trade off with simplicity, I vote for simplicity.

  • This is the best recorder you could find in AppStore. It has an unique features on iOS like mp3 converter, AU host and zoom in/ zoom out the waveform

  • Yes, yes, yes and let me think.......Yes.

I use it every week to edit our Church Sermon, which is usually about 1-2 hours in length. It handles those large FLAC files with no problem.

  • Awesome! Thanks everyone it's on my wish list.

Didn't know it has AU too. Cool!

@gmslayton That's impressive... on which iPad?

Might have to add this to my wishlist. thx

    @skiphunt iPad Air 1

That is impressive. I've got an Air2 and had imported just a single 45min binaural test recording (testing wind screens, and such) into Auria Pro and was getting a bit bogged down. It was 48khz 24bit and I was also messing around with some newly acquired plugins at the time... but still, it sounds like Twisted Wave has a light footprint with regard to CPU overhead. Yes?

  • The only audio editor on IOS that doesn't make me want to kill people.

  • For me, Twisted Wave is kind of like the Audacity of iOS. Doesn't look like much, but a whole bunch of goodness under the hood.

Well, yesterday it was $10, that's for sure. It's been sitting in my wish list for some time

Audacity will never get even remotely close to this app - never ever >:)
Under Windows there's Wavosaur as an editor and Reaper 0.99 (freeware) as a full DAW.

My house has no windows, so my view could be considered compromised ... But I stand by my assessment. Audacity and Twisted Wave are similar in that both apps allow one to manipulate audio files, and both apps don't show all their goodies until one does a bit of menu diving.

I use Twisted Wave when I need it, and I like it.
