I have pair of these https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ears-Pro-White-Discontinued/dp/B0009Q4PHO?th=1
Really great ear buds and because they have 2 elements(one bass-low mid and one mid-high) inside, the sound doesent lack in any frequencies and can produce really accurate sound. Also you can change the cord if the old one brakes(mine is broken atm and would need to order new one).
Sadly they are discontinued and the price for used(according to those few ones i saw on amazon) is almost the same than what i paid for them new. They were a real steal for the around 140€ i paid for them, well worth over 200 too imo
Anything Shure SE. The higher the number the better
I'm super happy with the sound I get from Shure SE 215 earbuds. They are the cheapest Shures at about $100 on Amazon.
In-Ear Monitor type earbud/headphones are great but expensive. I found a great model, Bose IE2's that look more like ear buds but sound much like in-ears. They're around $80-$100 new and are pretty easy to find online.
They're pretty flat for consumer earbuds, there's a subtle boost in the low-mids but no hyped bass or harsh top end. For hearing how mixes will translate in the "real world" I love these. Also good for tracking on the go, MIDI synths especially because with these you're monitoring the performance and then later with monitors or better closed back headphones to do final sculpting, etc.
My all-time favorite headphones are Sony MDR-7506's. They're not earbuds of course but if fidelity and quality is paramount over portability and size, they are excellent. Some people deride them like they do the Yamaha NS10 monitors saying its a ubiquitous, popular piece of gear but the sound quality sucks...I disagree.
I started on 7506's and have 2 pair, one from 1995 and one from 2015. They both sound excellent and it speaks to the excellent build quality when after 20 years of use my first set still sound phenomenonal...they really sound better since they've been broken in. Since I know their characteristics and sound I am comfortable mixing with them, sometimes more so than with monitors.
Either the Bose or Sony's will only set you back a C-note, and either one is worlds better than wireless/Bluetooth.
Picked these up on sale over the hollerdays for $45, and I'm surprised by just how balanced they sound. Comfortable, too:

Might be I'm biased – almost every speaker in my home is Klipsch
Went with Bose sport whatever they are for $139.
Thanks for your help
I've had everything from Shure's to Ultimate Ears
My favorite pair for the money so far has been Monster NCredribles even though I hate Monster as a company.
I just bought a second pair of the sennheiser CX475. I made a custom mould of the first ones and they work very well. This is a great solution, especially if you don't have much to spend.
