  • This app does not have background audio. Very annoying.

Yeah it does, check settings. It's even auto enabled if running thru Audiobus.

Thanks! I didn't think to scroll down in settings.

  • An original Fairlight demo tape ("Just Fairlight Number Three") as a Flash file. It will run on the free Puffin browser on iOS.

Other vintage demo recordings (thanks, archive.org!):

  • Anyone still using this? I had considered it before (being a positively retro sort of guy) but held off.

I pulled out the samples a while ago so I can use them with other apps :)
    Wish it was AUv3 though...

Was it not useable in Audiobus or is that just how you like to work?

It is usable with AB but I'm starting to get 'allergic' to app-switching :)

Luckily, most Fairlight samples are available elsewhere on the net, and $50 for a little sampler toy that is restricted to emulating the original (granted, plus a few goodies) seems much too expensive for my taste. Judging from the age of most ratings in AppStore, I don't think it's as popular as it was a few years ago.

Thanks @rs2000 guess I'll just shelve this idea. Better money spent elsewhere.

Agreed - use your money elsewhere. This recently got deleted from my iPad because I never used it.

  • @kinkujin you're right, if you consider just the isolated sounds it's not that tremendous.
The magic comes by the 'strange' sequencer, which happens to be one my favourites in the digital domain. Infortunately it doesn't send midi out in live mode - the only flaw of this app.
This is what I clicked together within the first 20 minutes with the CMI... o:)

Beaten to the punch...the sequencer is a lot of fun, and in a lot of ways superior than more modern and 'convenient' piano rolls. But unless you're really into the full emulation experience I wouldn't recommend spending $50. The $10 one is well worth it...I think...I'm pretty sure you can use Page R in it but don't hold me to that.

  • The public beta for the Pro version is available for testing if anyone is interested.
