VST in cubase? Amp sim like lepou?
Hey guys. Just wondering if you can use VST FX in cubase on Iphone like amp sims such as LePou plugins or Sgear
Comments
The format for plugins on ios/osx is audio unit(AU) not vst, and currently there are no guitar amp sim au plugins. Also the plugins need to be built for ios, you cant use deskop plugins on it
Auria Pro has VST plug-ins, but they must be bought inside Auria. There are two very good amp sims, and there is also FabFilter Saturn. You need an iPad, though: Auria cannot run on an iPhone.
Can you clarify, Cubase or Cubasis? If Cubasis did you mean iPad? If you mean Cubase, are you trying to use an effect on iPhone linked with the desktop Cubase soft?
Hmm yes there are. LePou plugins
So i have a very basic knowledge of how vst (or AU) work. On my pc i apply the fx to the track. What i am curious about is if iOS can use an OSX AU within a DAW program. I am on iPhone so would need the proper app with which to use this. Maybe AUM or something
Not true Cubase on the Mac only supports VST plus there are a few other DAWs that support them Reaper does as well .
so is it possible to use those things on iOS?
Different ecosystem, though there are a few ports to iOS for amp sims, people here recommend the Bias stuff for example - though that's iPad. One way to go if you have Le Pou on laptop and want to produce on iPhone is use Studiomux to run your audio from your phone to desktop into your DAW with fx loaded, then back into your phone (though most use the reverse approach)
I meant for iphone, which is what he is looking for. Yes you can use VSTs on mac, but you cant use desktop VSTs(like lepou) on iphone.
There is no Cubase for iPhone however there is Cubasis on the iPad. Auria is also available and one of the plugins, Overloud THM is very similar to the Overloud TH2 plugin for desktop. On iPhone your best option is probably either Jamup or ToneStack.
