  • Does it do split screen?

Does that mean TC data might one day do split screen?

    Yes it does.

    Hope so!

I can't seem to find it to install on iPhone though, anyone see it in the list?

    Edit: ok got it

  • TC-Data controlling Model15 & 4 instances of TC-11

  • Ooh. I never use splitscreen, but this looks like a thing.

  • split screen is cool....but the real game changer for me is the iphone version, controlling the ipad or other hardware from the iphone and using the accelerometer etc

  • I wish tc-11 had a hold feature. I was thinking today of a workaround to do so with objets that I would lay on ipad screen while I play guitar or drums...

Lol. I was wondering what I could do to hold as well! I kept searching to find the feature. Still think I must have missed it somewhere :p

I would like that too. I remember it was put to the developer last year and he wasn't too keen on the idea at the time. Think it would be ideal when working with multiple hardware setup. Either that or grow more pairs of hands... :)

I could see the TC approach being a wonderful inclusion into a future iOS DAW. I really believe that the benefits of the iOS touch interface have not been fully used yet. I think the TC approach is just waiting for someone who really wants to run with it.

Imagine being able to design our own controllers to control our AU apps for recording and playing back. Being able to move the AU app around a screen that has multiple input devices for CCs and any midi functions of the AU, all while recording the results.

Imagine being able to drag waveforms and loops over different control surfaces to change live how you were controlling them. So many things I can imagine in an iOS specific DAW

Yep. Really looking forward to the time when we can have AU midi sequencers and other AU midi tools which can be all types of interesting touch screen variety. This will then bring alive all the daws which i find are lacking in this department. Then with apps like AUM and the new Audiobus the potential to design your own Daw starts to happen....

  • Sweet! I bought TC-Data a couple months ago when it was on-sale... partly because the dev promised the next update would have multi-panel and split screen. Was starting to wonder if it was actually coming. Awesome!

  • Dumb TC-Data question: Is this just TC-11 but with midi out? Same interface, but it allows me to perform on Animoog, DRC, etc? Does it work with drum synths too? I was always put off because I could never tell one TC product from the other, and they were expensive. But I picked up TC-11 during the sale, and it is the app I just get LOST in...although I do wish some of the patches were more...to my liking? TC-Data seems to solve this "problem." But then...what is TC Performer?

Performer is just the controllers and patches. You can't edit the controllers. For those who just want to play and don't care to have edit control over the controller. It's the first one I bought. TC-11 has all the same patches, but you can edit the controllers. You can add variations and edit them at a fairly deep level including arp sequencers within the controller. But, no midi-out. TC-Data has no patches. It's the controllers and deep level editing of the controllers, and has midi-out.

This could all be one app, but I don't have an issue with the devs approach here. When I first started playing with this stuff, I would've been overwhelmed by the ability to edit the patches. I just wanted to play cool sounds with an intuitive/easy control interface. Then, as I learned more, I wanted to tweak the controllers some, so I bought TC-11. Now, I want to control over synths, so I bought TC-Data.

I'm guessing this progression could've been handled as IAPs instead of 3 different apps, but given the fact I really didn't expect to progress past the initial fun factor of Performer, I'm content with the way it progressed. Knowing what I know now, I would've just started with TC-11 though.

I just tried controlling 4 different synths in TC-Data with 4 different multi-patches that I like via TC-11 in split screen. This is really incredible. Not that I can play all of that at once, but having essentially 8 instruments on screen at once to play is mind boggling.

Then there's also TC-orbiter for iPhone. It is only the MIDI out features. I bought it for accelerometer control, which it handles great, really precise controls. It is much cheaper than the others.

Problem is the calibration "drifts" pretty quickly and has to be reset, so it's not too practical to set up and wave your iPhone around in the air.

Yeah! That would be awesome. I wish I had infinite time and skills to code such thing.

Yes! Via split screen, for 5 controlled patches at once. I was doing that before TC-Data. Actually works out well.

  • Is there a default patch in tc-11? I just got it on iPhone and can't find an Init preset. I suppose I could make one, but for some reason that really annoys me.

Some of these made from graphite and then plenty of practice should do it...
