Samplr import on the fly
In all this 'waiting for this and that apps release' I've completely overlooked the new (to me) loopy share option where one can easily record a perfect loop in loopy and while project running 'open in' Samplr for tweaking goodness. This in the past was only possible via audioshare.
So yes, it is a big deal for those who want to sample and work with samples live on the fly.
I'm going to make a little video with this from my new music HQ soon.
Yay!

That sounds amazing, cant wait to see the video, i think i could make really good use of this
YAY VIDEO NEED PLEASE DO YAY
looking forward to that!
Yeah sounds awesome
Oh wow, hadn't thought of this. For some reason the Samplr AudioPaste bug has me skeptical of any easy import into Samplr but this works like a charm! This solves a big roadblock for me in live situation! Thanks for the tip...
Here it is. Blood sweat and tears. Enjoy.
Ah yeah, don't expect a tutorial
Nuff to get you burnt. Magic. Literally.
Really good. Yer bastard yer.
Im in awe at the vid. Really great sounds.
Oh shit. Can't wait to try this. And nice jam Don Dom.
Nice!
Excellent stuff. Are you syncing samplr to loopy or just running at same bpm?
@supadom So badass, loved this piece and went back and listened to some of your other stuff which was exceptional as well.
From what I'm seeing in the videos, everything is off the iPad right? It looks like an Akai MIDI controller, another pad device and a small mixer is the setup for these jams, is that all?
As a guitarist I love that you're injecting some guitar flavor into your music.
Totally! I'm surprised all of us Samplr lovers aren't gathering around a massive bonfire to dance in celebration of this.
Do you sync Loopy and Samplr via midi and have loops running in both? Seems like the sync is solid but would still love Link in Samplr.
Hafta thank you for this Mister Dom. Has opened a new thing of stuff, not live but still groovy etc.
Glad to be of assistance. There is another nifty trick buried in the video that would work great on the big bastard. A time ago I'd discovered that when a finger stays on playing surface it still affects the wave even after the change of loop which basically allows to manipulate 2 samples at the same time.
During the above performance I discovered that the same can be done with the effects (albeit fiddly). Somewhere 2/3 down the timeline I mess with the ring modulator and then switch to delay ending up altering ring with one finger and delay with other.
@lukesleepwalker have you tried that?
Samplr is slaved to loopy. It is as good as having Link apart from the fact that there is a slight lag at the very beginning so not ideal if you're using a lot of starts/stops.
I'm actually running this with Patterning hooked with link. I'm surprised how good it is on resources. Not a glitch on air 2 at 128 frames of latency. Magic.
@supadom you are hitting the mother lode of cool new tricks! I was not aware of the dual manipulation technique either. Will try it later.
How are you using patterning? I alternate between patterning and elastic drums for percussion click track.
@supadom i often wonder why other developers don't use that trick. shame i cant code
Which makes me wonder whether that was intentional. That's basically like having extra screen estate, especially when it comes to X/Y control surfaces.
@supadom thanks very! Much for this trick, three differents are possible too, wow filter+rev+comp all seperate adjustable.....rocknroll!
hearing some great stuff on the forum today, really liked this Dom,
Hey thanks. I'm rendering something special to greet you tomorrow morning!
Hey, sorry. I totally missed your post. Yes, it is all coming from one iPad through Akai EIE interface. I have 4 controllers connected:
Akai mpk mini mk1
Akai lpd 8
Arturia beatstep
Roland FC 50 foot controller.
The mixer on the side is just to take audio to the amp and speakers. When I play live I go straight outa 2 EIE mono jacks.
Thanks. I'm myself a big fan of your video collage work.
@supadom
Inspiring work (play): you got me into Samplr after all these years, got me to see what all the fuss was about with this one. (Open in helps a heap).
Nice, good to see Impaktor getting a workout in one of your other videos too. It does produce some strange stuff at times which I like.
Impaktor has got to be the most underrated apps out there. It has a small but hardcore following which probably is the reason why it's been on the back burner. It is definitely in my top 5 of all and 3 in instrument apps category.
I think part of the problem is that that it doesn't sound too sexy through the headphones. It really shines through a proper PA though.
@supadom
Really good and it reminds me a little like watching Karl Hyde, which in my opinion is a compliment
