My ROTOR controllers came. Verdict: Hell Yeah!
I am sorry to disagree with some others on this one, but, I LOVE these controllers with this app.
Understand this in my evaluation.
I am looking to the future, meaning I love my bluetooth MIDI controller, I love using the iPhone as a MIDI device, and these ROTOR controllers fit perfectly for me. I like new ideas and ways of making and performing music. THAT IS WHY I LOVE ROTOR and THE CONTROLS----------it mixes the vibe of DJ'ing with Music making and performing. No, it is not an all in one everything you need, but it is damn well one of the coolest apps with this controller I have seen lately. I like innovative and quirky mixed with an industry I adore--- electronic music.
Everyday use I can see this being a go to for "genre based" sound palates of beats / basslines or something like that when not using it for a peformance type creative setting.
Are they perfect, no. Either is anything I own.
However, they took a little getting used to. Once the learning curve is reached with the physical aspect of the controllers it is off to the races.
I am thinking I may do a vid to show what I am actually doing with these for the forum.

Oh and most importantly.....
IT WAS REALLY FUN ACTUALLY.
Sometimes I get in a rut or use a similar work flow, this app with the controllers is a perfect remedy.
Glad you like them.I love Rotor app, I'm still thinking about the controllers. A vid will be very welcome here!
I rememberTim Webb's review and that he didnt get on with the controller. Its great that you took the chance and had a different experience. I look forward to seeing the video. The ideas from this dev are amazing and they deserve a ambasador. Ios music does feel like beta testing at times but we are also getting the latest stuff. Every now and again I cant believe what Ive got in my hands.
Right.
Amazing time for elec musicians and artists like us
These are testing times.
I just demo-d them at the SF-emm last night.
Still problems with losing grip etc.
But I'm glad I bought them, they are fun. Just don't get the idea that "you'll get the hang of it" and all will be peachy.
Every now and again I cant believe what Ive got in my hands.
Lmao Yes! Sometimes I still stare at my iPad and I'm like "Holy Shit". So much power in such a little device.
Yeah, that was me jamming today. I basically had my air 2, zoom u25 and mpk mini and about 8 apps running in perfect harmony. Samplr, loopy, turnado, patterning etc, etc. Amazing.
It's friggin magic. Every week I walk away from a jam smiling and amazed.
Cool! Glad you like them. I'd love to see a video too!
Niceee! Sounds like an awesome combination.
Great post and great to see another opinion!
It is so amazing to feel like I learn something every day any more.
Music production has taken on a new whole mentality for me not that I have unplugged from the PC
