Session Band Ukulele and all others @ $1.99

All Session Band apps on sale for $1.99!! Awesome deal!
I have most of them on my iPhone and they're such a great deal for inspiration and creating a backing track.

Anyone has the new Ukulele?

  • Session bands are great for sampling up in to other apps to chop and mangle

  • Well, I was missing Deep House, so now it's complete. :)

  • The Uke may actually be my favorite. Don't use them much and they are heavy (size-wise), but good to have...

the big bundle is an even better deal. specially big bundle 1. so much harmonic goodness to mangle in there.
Thankfully bundles can be bought again. whatever problem was there in the appstore seems to have been resolved.

Seems worth it for the percussion loops alone.

  • If you own some Sessionband apps, check out the bundles. Last time there was a sale, I was able to complete one of the bundles for free!

Sadly bundles don't seem to be working like that anymore. I had all the SB apps bar the new Ukelele one and it was much cheaper to buy it on its own than to complete any of the available bundles.

What packs do you recommend for those percussion loops?

I am still getting a Complete My Bundle price on some other bundles that I have my eye on.

I bet you bought all those SB apps during a sale - that's why completing the bundle was more expensive than buying the app on its own.

Here's a good article explaining how it works: https://panic.com/blog/how-complete-my-bundle-pricing-works/

  • For the life of me i cannot seem to get the loops to export in the correct timing.
just want to export say a 2 bar loop at 120 bpm but when i import into blocs its completely wrong.
can someone please help me ? @richardyot how do you use the app ?

  • I love jamming with the jazz ones

My guess is that the exported loops will include the tail, so when you import them to blocks it has to speed it all up slightly to fit into 2 bars at 120 bpm

I'd probs export into Auria then bounce the section I wanted

  • I just tried, there's a little silence at the beginning too, audioshare was easily able to trim that off, then I trimmed the resultant file with clip to beat.
That loaded into blocks just fine.

yup. its due to the silence at the start. its a bit dicey when you have clips that are offbeat coz figuring out the timing is a nightmare with those. (I export individual instruments). Auria works but we shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops :(
Audiobus would work but sadly there's no way to slave Sessionband to a clock.

Always ALWAYS pisses me off this. Or did piss me off sufficiently that I hardly ever open the apps. Ha'porth of tar again.

Yeah, it's really annoying - it takes a lot of fiddling around in other apps to try to make the exported loops actually sync properly. I just gave each of the 5 different sessionband apps I have a one star rating in the app store, along with a description of the problem. That might sound harsh but this is a major flaw imo.

Ditto. Shame because I enjoyed some of them.

Always thought I was doing something wrong but I guess I wasn't. Yeah that's annoying.

It also doesn't help that those apps take up a ton of space. I've completely removed all of them from my iPad but I have kept a few on my phone for sample fodder. Both devices are 64 MB.
