Companion App for Deepmind 12 is available

edited January 2017 in General App Discussion

It has been previously announced that there would be a companion app for the DeepMind 12, and it has quietly turned up in the store.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/deepmind-12/id1184965301?mt=8

Delve into all the parameters of the Behringer DEEPMIND 12 digitally-controlled analogue synthesizer. Organise and share your patches with the built-in preset library.

See every parameter of your current patch with the overview page. Blend smoothly between up to 4 different patches with the Preset Blender. Update your synth with the latest features using the bulit-in firmware updater.

The app can be connected to the DEEPMIND 12 using any iOS-compatible MIDI interface, including Bluetooth MIDI & Apple's MIDI Network Session. You can plug straight into the DEEPMIND 12 using Apple's USB Camera Connection Kit.

You can change a lot of the parameters within this app, but unless I'm missing something, you can't actually play anything with it unless you have a DeepMind 12. But if you're curious, it's interesting to explore.

  • Cool. Will check it out. Not meant to make any sounds on its own.

  • Looks great. Funny, they used many of the digital "rack" effects of the X32 line of digital mixers.

Loving the effects in this one, a mix of effects from TC Electronic, Klark Teknik and Midas. Fairly sure this is the first time a synth (and an analog one at that) have effects of this caliber built-in. No audio in on the thing tho, but can't complain at this price point I guess.

The only thing the app has that's not available on the unit itself is the preset blender, and the more comprehensive librarian. Being able to just name presets outside the hardware is a godsend :-)

  • Got to say, they put a lot of work into that app :+1:
