Mostly OT: AudioStretch now does video
I'm not sure how pertinent this is, but it is rather fun to play with.
AudioStretch was recently bought out by a music education-based company and they released a new version. In addition to some UI polish, you can now pull in video to play at any speed or scrub on-screen with their slick lossless algorithm. The feature's mainly for musicians to follow along visually to favorite artists' videos, but if they would just slap video export or AirPlay on there, it would be great for multimedia work. In the meantime, you Chet Atkins fans go nuts.

Awesome!
Shame it doesn't appear to use video from web like BeatTime.
could be wrong though.
+1 on saving the video - is @AudioStretch still contactable?
does it loop and export video?
The dev appears to be working for the buyer (BandLab Technologies) now, so not sure. It's a bigger company than I thought, with a cross-platform collaborative DAW ecosystem that incorporates video, so maybe this is a first dip into bigger things. Kinds looks like they're gunning for SoundCloud the more I look at it.
@kobamoto Looping: yes. Export video: No. It's pretty focused on the task at hand, which is slowing down music and video so you can learn songs. Just get the the free Lite version and check it out. It's the best sounding time-stretch algorithm I've found on iOS.
I've got the paid version already but it's been a minute since I used it. On the iPhone I was getting some issues where the loop sounded perfect, but then after exporting to audioshare it was off, haven't tried it since but I will update and test out some more
Gerry Beauregard here, original author of AudioStretch. After years of AudioStretch being a one-man effort, I'm really excited to be able to work with the talented programmers and designers at BandLab to make it even better, and to get the technology into BandLab's other products.
If you run into any problems with AudioStretch, or have ideas on how to improve it, do feel free to write to [email protected]. At the moment, I'm still personally handling most of the support tickets, though that'll gradually change as BandLab's support staff get up-to-speed on it.
@kobamoto - the export feature isn't designed to export loops per-se, but rather to export excerpts of longer pieces with time-stretching and/or pitch-shifting applied. Typical use case would be a guitar teacher emailing a slowed down version of a guitar solo to a student.
Note that the exported audio has a short fade-in at the start and fade-out at the end, so it definitely won't loop perfectly unless it's trimmed. Even with trimming, however, glitch-free looping may not even be possible. When playing a loop in the AudioStretch app, looping can be done smoothly thanks to a real-time analysis/re-synthesis algorithm designed to preserve signal continuity as much as possible. The actual audio sample data that's synthesised is often different on every iteration through the loop (even if it sounds the same on each iteration).
ok thank you Gerry, appreciate the the info and looking forward to what you guys do in the future.
