Importing MIDI sequences into Z3ta+
I saw in a vid there's an option to import MIDI sequences into Z3ta+'s arp section.
Has anyone managed this and could you, for example export the MIDI from an app like Troublemaker and use this?
Thanks.
Comments
@MonzoPro in principle, yes - managed to import thru ifunbox, four bars max.
Brilliant thanks, I guess you could do it via AudioShare as well.
No, alas. One more for the update![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
To get more bars, well not really, but a trick is to re-tempo the midi data prior to use.
Ah, bugger.
Do you think they'll update this at any point, or is there a sniff of a replacement version instead?
There's always hope. But I wouldn't hold your breath. I'm pretty sure they have said they aren't going to develop it anymore as it didn't make money.
Oh ok. I've had this on my wish list for ages, it's still at the old price so now or never....
Tough one, you probably don't need it, and it's even harder if they've already 'fessed up to -essentially- abandoning it, but, but, but it's pretty and very capable; a good combination in synths and lovers both...
I had a go on it around a mate's yesterday, and got it to produce sounds I can't get on others....at least not from scratch. I can see Nave and Mitosynth might be capable, but I haven't a clue how to patch them. Z3ta had a more straightforward and friendly UI, but knocked out more complex sounds than yer average analogue synth.
Tempted, but worried about the abandonment.
I started using it again last weekend because Thor and ioddesey couln't really hack it and it deliverred on the spot.
It's a really good of synth and it works for now - Maybe it will get fucked by an os update, but People's are still using alchemy and samplr. So get it while it is still here. Sorry about the autocorrect.
Sat on the fence too long - price has increased from 14.99 to £19.99 due to the '20%' correction now.
Ah well, at least that's put an end to the pondering.
Just picked this up. I've had it on my wish list so long that I don't even remember what was holding me back. Do not regret it one bit, tons of stuff here to have fun with.
One question, no midi import, but can you at least import your own waveforms?
EDIT:
Indeed you can. Dug up some old waveforms I had on my hardrive, imported through iTunes without a hitch.
My reaction to using this synth is similar to using Thor:
Man this is a quality synth, in spite of the port from desktop not translating very well.
All good though, works with virtual midi, and works in AUM. Which is about all I was asking for.
This has become perhaps my favorite Synth on iOS! I absolutely love the arp section and the fact that it comes with so many useful arp patterns. Pity it will no longer be updated as I will definitely miss it when it finally goes out of date. Perhaps they will change their minds if enough of us ask nicely?
Best thing would be a way to draw midi patterns for arps. Probably wouldn't be that hard to code either, relatively speaking.
It's been what though, two years since an update? Not holding my breath.
Yeah that would have swung it for me, almost weird that you can't.
I was quite taken with the sound when I tried it at my mates though - quite unique, very impressive. It goes on sale occasionally, so I'll have to watch out for that.
Should be noted, user waveforms don't seem to work too well, as the modulation doesn't seem to transition smoothly all the time from zero. Well, at least with the ones I have. Oh well, still plenty in the app already.
I don't know if it's abandoned but Cakewalk can be really slow at updating synths, even then it can be messy, the desktop release of Rapture Pro was a fiasco, it's not bad now, but at first, complaints everywhere.
I remember doing this a while back and it worked ok. Derek @MusicInclusive is the expert. Did you do a tutorial Derek?
Im going to have a little go on z3ta now, it's been too long.
I did - a while back - but that was before there was reduced access in iFunbox. I'll have to look at getting the waveforms back in again. Haven't done that with Z3TA+ recently.
But, yes, the Adventure Kid waveforms are a good place to start:

However - that site isn't working for me right now![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/neutral.png)
