Um, Beat Hawk, update?

What ever did happen to that?

  • Absolutely nothin. (Yet)

  • It never happened. Just like Dagger, Loopy Masterpiece and the WerkBench update. I guess it just wasn't meant to be... and that's OK.

Did the world end and I missed the memo?

As far as I'm aware the world did not end. Why are you asking?

  • I was initially hoping Beathawk 2 would drop during NAMM.
It will come when it comes, next week we have the Beamaker 3 'announcement' (no word on release though).
And soon it's February with Gadget and Syntmaster One and a few others.

    ... like AudioBus 3!

Just wondering how you know these things will never happen.

I didn't say it quite like that you know, my version was in past tense.

  • Bit like True Love, most of us find a version of it along the way (for a while at least), but hard to go looking for it. Best just to mosey along and when it falls in your lap smile gracefully... :)

Because we can't always expect every developer to meet the deadline or even finish, it doesn't always work out like that. Such is life. It's OK because it worked out enough of times to fill the app store with plenty of amazing apps. If and when they get released I'll probably grab them day one but I am no longer expecting them.

    Exactly.
My iPad has virtual tools of everything I could have dreamed of in a private studio. Time to focus on the music instead of learning another app.

  • But there also those > @firejan82 said:

I see your point but I think there also those who are not that satisfied with all the current apps and wait specifically for the announced ones.
I agree that there are a lot of great apps out there but most of them are also only "one piece of the puzzle" and I'm tired of buying new "fun" apps which may be great in their own right but are a PITA to use in a somewhat streamlined production process.

I get that. The Gadget update and BM3 are definitely happening and I am very much looking forward to those.

But those apps/updates I mentioned in my first post in this thread may actually never be released or they might not be as attractive when they get released if the feature set on release remains the same as it was when the app was announced months or years ago.

Underlying all I said is my real issue that I just hate waiting for apps and updates for this long but I don't want to sound spoiled and like I'm complaining because I really appreciate all the work the developers do and I know first hand how hard it is sometimes to finish a project.

  • Some promess... Korg Gadget delivers ;-)

  • Update 1.1.4 up......

    Where is Ver 2?

  • By now I think V2 is put on hold or something.

  • Beta testers would disagree with that assertion.

UVI and INTUA are waiting on each other for who's releasing first so that they can then do some quick competition research. That's the real reason why INTUA don't want to take new beta testers, they are afraid of the UVI spies. It's a fierce rivalry for who will be the maker of the top beatmaker.

Haha, yeah, and we are all going to wait foreveeeeeeeeeer.... :D

I disagree with that. I'm beta testing both and haven't had any issues with being accepted.

What I can tell you is that these kind of apps take a lot of time to test because of their complexity.

Honestly, BeatHawk feels pretty finished to me. Never had any issues.
But they did added a big feature in the latest builds which changed my workflow big time.

2017 is a very good year for mobile music. Not only iOS, but I'm talking about OP-Z, MPC Live, etc.

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously but anyway, did you just get in the BM3 beta? and if so, how do I get in?

because I just been told that I could never join, even Mathieu confirmed that they could not get as many beta-testers as they wanted

I thought he was just being diplomatic about not taking on too many testers due to the work involved with processing their findings.

"Unfortunately, we could not get as much people as we wanted for beta-testing (which was pretty much alpha testing at first !). Mainly because it takes time to carefully go through all the feedback, crash reports, suggestions, etc."

Yes, obviously, he couldn't tell us about the UVI spies.
