Thread for synth sounds
Is there a way to download synth sounds on ios and get them over to the apps i use? If not, How do i do it on windows?
Thats nr question nr 1, and nr 2-20... Im looking for some sounds because I'm aiming to make a jazz funk cover band. Can you help me towards what apps i can find them? The rythmic fck arround synth on this track first

Wow, that song is amazing. When you say make a "jazz funk cover band" do you mean you're looking to be the keyboardist in a band with other musicians or you're looking to recreate jazz funk cover songs all on your own?
As a member in a band...
For synths, I'd shortlist these as they're recreations of the synths used by those bands in that era: iMini, iSem, and your electric piano app of choice. Lots of the synth sounds could be created in other synth apps but those will probably give you the quickest path. Plus a bunch of presets that already 'sound right'.
If you're going it alone...
Synths: same as above. You might also want to check out Viking or one of the other AU synths so you can get more voices as once.
Drums: you probably want to check out Funk Drummer by Mr @LuisMartinez. And perhaps the mighty DrumJam to add human feeling percussion. If you want to play with drum machine type rhythms, Funkbox ships with a great set of insta-happy beats and sounds.
Bass: For synth bass lines, the synths above will do you solid. For recreating electric bass, I think iFretless is still the go to. I'm not sure though as this isn't something I do.
Guitar: This is probably the hardest to recreate on iOS for funk because there's so much muting going on with both hands. GuitarCapo+ and Guitarism are both very good apps.
How you put it all together is going to come down to how you like to work. Something linear with audio + MIDI like Auria or Cubasis is probably your best bet. Cubasis comes with some of the sounds you'd want (decent electric and acoustic pianos, organs, a built in synth...) so it might edge out Auria for that reason alone.
Aw,thank you for the nice response. Im a bass and guitar player, but for convinving people to join the project it would be nice to have the synth sound ready. That way we could pass some stuff back and forth. I have a setup with two amps, bass and guitar at my place so it would be nice to add some synth during practice to try it out. You dont know the spesific effect for the playfull synth that is used in the song/ or a similar one?![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/blush.png)
Thanks, and have a great day
Thanks, I'm new when it comes to recognizing synth sounds so this helps alot
To get that sound, id suggest getting iMini and trolling the presets until you find something close and then twiddle the knobs until you're happy.
Why not explore what Garageband has to offer? It not only gives you plenty of synth sounds in an easily accessible format, but it also puts it into a musical context with minimum fiddling and tinkering required.
Check out this old favourite round these parts, can kind of get a similar sound out of it by sliding your finger upwards, sound in that song also sounds like there is an lfo attached to the mod wheel as it only comes in now and then. Could use a tremolo fx and use a foot peddle to trigger it maybe, to mimic the wobble.
