IOS Synth with best chord mode?
I have no 'music theory' training & I just play by ear so really like to use automatic chord playing...but I don't want to necessarily set the chords myself (like in isem, the only synth I have so far). I would like something where I can press a chord function button and then quickly play some great sounding chords...any suggestions?? Or maybe I would be better of with something like ChordPolyPad, NaviChord...or even better,if I knew how well the chord feature in ModStep worked I would probably purchase that immediately. Just recently started building my ipad music app collection...appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance! -Luke

I'd say it's gotta be Navichord, although Garageband has pretty good chord playing interfaces.
DRC of top of my head...
iPolysix too you can play chords in scales with the kaoss pad
same feature in iWAVESTATION and iM1
Magellan has a chord mode too, not sure how it works
Nave is great too for this.
as far midi apps for chords, you mentioned ChordPolyPad and NaviChord which are great but my faves are Changeling for in scale chords and ChordUp for chromatic up to 7ths chords. And looking forward to Chordion 2.

Agreed but I'd add Navichord also...
Thanks, pals! Exactly the info I was looking for. Think I'm gonna go ahead and purchase a few of these suggestions & just start experimenting.
I'd have to say Soundprism and the Korg synths. Nothing like super easy inversions for nice voice leading. Also shout out to Chordup, underatted gem.
Magellan also has a nice chord section and a touchpad mode which also plays chords. I'm surprised nobody mentioned "Chordion" yet.
ipolysix doesn't have midi out though via those x/y pads right though right?
do magellan's x/y's midi out and are they better than ipolysix's?
@kobamoto magellen has midi out. No inversions live though. You gotta program the chords or choose a preset.
gracias
Kirnu Cream Mobile!
