The Audio Controlled Oscillator Chip - ACOC
SQUAVER P1 - Semi-modular, audio controlled analog synthesizer.
CONVERTOR - The first ever, semi modular, Audio Controlled, analog synthesizer
These analog synthesizers will turn any audio source into analog synth waves and CV signals.
Completely analog inside, they pose no perceivable latency and yet manage to achieve what only a few companies have tried in history: controlling analog synths with a simple audio signal. Sonicsmith is currently offering 2 products powered conveniently by either a 9V battery or a standard pedal PSU. Both the ConVertor and the Squaver P1 synths will turn any monophonic audio into analog synth waves while giving you all CV outputs of gate, pitch, trigger and envelope control voltages. The Squaver P1 also has expression pedal input with a separate CV output.
Both feature our own designed extensive preamp section with a clean 40dB gain range, HP and LP filters and two ENV followers for both main input and a side-chain input for alternative ENV control. They will both synthesize a square wave and a saw tooth wave with a front panel wave mix knob. forms as well and are able to receive CV signals from external sources. Their fabulous sound and rapid response have to be played with to be believed.

That reminds me, I'll have to see if I can fix my one of these:

(VCF is not behaving like one)
I had one of those Korg Guitar synths for a while, I seem to remember the tracking was pretty good and it certainly is along the lines of an "audio controlled analog synthesizer"
If they get the price of this chip down and we start seeing it in more devices or as retrofit, it's a good trend I'd think..
Still got mine in a box somewhere. Used to love strumming chords through it and hearing the mad warbling melodies that it generated.
Id like to get the chip without the synth part![:/ :/](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
Yep it needs to made available for sale as a chip/board for sure
