Love the strange attractor app, but based on the vid, this will not satisfy the $10 burning in my wallet
@out_phipps - actually, Ops can do feedback really well, so you can explore a whole world of strange attractor type sounds for only twice the price
Looks interesting, single cycle waveform export would be handy.
hi @chris_foster - my plans for the next version include sample and wavetable ops with import/export via AudioShare
That sounds ambitious in a good way
Does it have IAA-Midi or is it Core_Midi?
AU, Ableton Link and Audiobus support would be appreciated prior to any extra features.
Audiobus is already there as source and also as fx/output
It has AudioKit MIDI which is based on CoreMIDI. Audiobus and IAA already supported. AU & Link on the to-do list...
I bought it, a GREAT app, really interesting, sort of "simple" or basic looking, but a deep app, I believe with a lot of sonic possibilities... just been trying out the included projects.
Great idea not having to hookup wires, kind of reminds me of Tiny Bits from Korg...
LINK in future update will be great.
Thanks, really like OPS.
@macduff, sounds like you are the developer, do you plan on updating Strange Attractor?
Looks interesting. But iOS 10 only
An UNDO and REDO would be nice for learning...
I would like to hear some feedback and audio rate FM examples. And maybe some percussive sounds.
thanks @soundklinik - much appreciated. LINK & Undo are on my to-do list. Yes, I'd love to give Strange Attractor a refresh. Maybe next. I can also add some examples to Ops that do similar chaotic things.
sorry @yug. I'm using the wonderful AudioKit library, which is iOS 10
@Phil999 I'll see what I can do...
Cool bought. I'm a sucker for modular synthapps and I really like how this one works with the drag and drop. A cool take on this.
I'm interested on account that Voco is one of my very favorite apps...
Ok understood, so it cant be hosted in AUM directly yet...only via AB at this point.
Actually it should be able to connect to AUM via IAA, but there are teething problems. An update's in the works...
Being able to do feedback is awesome!
Yup - feedback is one of my favourite things. It is the basis of my other app Strange Attractor. In Ops I wanted to be able to easily build all sorts of things inside the feedback loop to hear what weirdness emerges!
I'll put some of my feedback efforts out there when I get a chance. I'd also like to make a shared space for uploading - would be great to hear what you're making.
@macduff yup exploring feedback is awesome for weirdness. Great for self-generating patches. Been doing that for long time with audiomulch. However on other modular synth apps, not many seem to explore that idea a lot. So it's nice to see more of this on ios. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but I love that stuff.
bluetooth audio is not working. cool app though.
@willg - no, i'm afraid it's not. i'll take a look at why not...
could anyone post an example ( or screenshot of a patch) of creating feedback? thanks
This, i'm almost sold on buying
@willg - the '07 ether fx' and '08 phraser fx' examples that come with Ops use feedback. Here's a screenshot of '07 ether fx'. The loop contains a delay line and two pitch shifters in parallel, one shifting up, the other down. The red 'recv' Op top left is getting the output from the 'add' far right.
More demo video would be welcome.
I just read the musicappblog review of Ops And decided to Try it .It's not that easy compared to analogkit imho. For example, Can someone tell me What is missing to Add a single delay or a Reverb ( ops is in the effect slot of audiobus : animoog ->ops (as a delay) .I Want to connect my input (animoog) to my delay (or reverb ,Any effect)
...I am lost in Operation ( aka the Bill Murray of the modularity)
I asked because It doesn't work properly if i fuse the input with the effect like this :
I agree , We definitively need more presets And tutorials even for easy operations...
Hi @grego68 - I'm the author of Ops. Simply drag the 'input' op onto the dial next to the 'in' input of the effect. That will replace the dial with the 'input' op.
You create structures in Ops by replacing one input with another. The idea is that whatever you make is always wired up to do something. You cannot have 'unwired' ops floating around, they always have an input of some sort and generate an output.
