Another music great dies - John Wetton
RIP John Wetton, one of my all time music heroes. Awesome singer and bass player and writer of so much great music. Came to fame in King Crimson, then joined the all too short lived UK before forming Asia and having worldwide success with their first album including songs such as Heat of the Moment, Sole Survivor and Only Time Will Tell.
I have most of his albums, saw him in concert and have the t-shirt(s). In fact I was once at a gig by the band IQ and as I was leaving, I felt a tap on my shoulder and a voice said "Nice t-shirt!" It was of course the man himself and we had a great chat, I actually met him a few times and he was always very approachable.
It's a very sad night for me tonight.

so sad now. tune sticks with me forever
Poor Carl Palmer must feel like everyone he played with is dying.
Saw him play with UK one time, my first proper gig. Brilliant musician, and Red has always been my favourite King Crimson album.
First time I saw him play live was with UK at "The Venue" in London, it must have been one of the last gigs they ever played (before the reunion the other year). Seen him many times since in various bands, and solo.
I think we've talked about this before - I was at the same gig Eddie Jobson with a wall of synths, and (I think) Terry Bozzio on drums. The Danger Money tour was the one I saw, and I remember them playing Caesar's Palace Blues in particular.
Oh crap! Agreed with @MonzoPro about Red.
Man, only 67.
Yes i had a feeling we had!
This is one of my favourites from his solo career, here played with a certain well known guitar player too. I wish I could write just one song half as good as this.
Tough news! He was a hell of a musician. UK and King Crimson are two favorites. RIP Mr. Wetton.
Aw man.
Another big U.K. Fan here. Grateful to have seen them at the Chicago stadium warming up for Jethro Tull.
Only 67?! That's insane. With all of our musical heroes dropping like flies last year and this year, looks like we need to step up. The goal is not to surpass those who came before us but rather to honour them by being the best versions of ourselves we can be.
Bad news. "Books of Saturday" is my favourite song.
R.I.P.
Sad. Another King Crimson fan here. Have to break out Starless for a listen.
