  • That's cool--I love this concept. But I don't see how this offers anything that ROTOR doesn't offer in a modular approach with lots more options for inter-app connections. What am I missing, if anything?

It is a lot like Rotor. For me, though, Rotor is a closed system of premade loops. I can't easily write my own patterns. I can in KRFT. Don't love the sound set, but samples are slated for future release. Plus it's $3!

  • How many instruments can you have going at once, and can you tweak the sounds at all?

You can have 8 at once. if the tweakability of Auxy was a 5 and a full blown synth was a 10, I'd say KFRTs tweakability is about 7

Hmm sounds good. Think I'll buy this tonight if I don't go to the pub.

  • One thing it has going for it, that you don't always see, is optional input/live quantization. This combined with the rather nice pad style playing surface, means you can drag your finger all over the pads and it will be quantized so you can play arpeggio sounding stuff really easily.

One of the demo vids had a lovely sounding arp, really nice. I don't usually go for this type of app but tempted by this one

I'm not sure I understand. ROTOR allows for import and recording in, yes?

Yes but apparently some kind of aptitude is required! No, in seriousness, I suppose I could figure out how to load in perfect loops. And I would love to see the tutorial on that, but I'd rather just write them.

  • Much easier than ROTOR (for me) and much deeper than I expected it to be (but still easy). Fun little pleasure object.

I haven't got ROTOR, in fact I'm starting to lag behind on getting a lot of the recent apps on here. I need to pull my socks up.

I think I'd stick with the sandals mate...no hurry.

  • The key detection feature in ROTOR is tops. I guess it's too bad the app isn't accessible enough to allow that killer feature to shine.

It sounds AMAZING. Truly. Just haven't found a way in yet.
    Willing to learn.
