Looptunes with Launchpad Pro

Hi guys,

I’ve had a few reports of Launchpad pro not working correctly with Looptunes.
I finally was able to test it myself.....the Launchpad Pro controller mapping I made is wrong.
Here are the steps to get it working correctly:
1. set Launchpad pro to “program” (press and hold setup, then press the 5th button in the top row)
2. in Looptunes press the settings button (bottom bar, to the left of the crossfader)
3. in the Midi input devices, select “Launchpad Pro Standalone Port”
4. in the Midi controllers section, select “Launchpad mk2” (do NOT select Launchpad pro)
5. Enjoy

Let me know if this works for you.

Peter

  • Being that Looptunes is the best designed performance grid based app available, it is nice to hopefully have this sorted out.

Any chance of Audiobus Remote triggers for start stop at least?

Loop tunes has the best sound of any loop playing app as well IMHO

  • It works.

Someone just needs to update the XML with multi functions to activate and deactivate the proper colors.

Someone needs to do this. It can't be that hard.

    ;)

Agree with this and I hope many others discover this to be the truth.

  • What are the green blocks up top for?

    BY FAR!

Would love to see mass importation like iMPC and HOOK.

    That would be insane.

This app is the best of both worlds, DJ ing and making music. It is a dream app for me.

Proper LPad PRo integration is very impotant

the top 2 rows let you select one of the 8 effects per session
row 3 lets you activate the effect with 4 different values (pad release de-activates the effect)
row 4 mutes the respective slots/vertical tracks
    row 5-8 toggles the pads.

    Does that explain it?

yea, there’s more work to be done with colors. More correct colors, highlighting playing pads (or making them ‘breathe’). I’ll eventually get to it, I’m currently focusing on the DJ version though.

I can't wait to try it!

  • G-Stomper is nice....different concept, same graphics team actually. I don't know "Playtime". Do you have a link?

  • G-Stomper is more like a groove box. It has a ton of cool features, still different though in that it doesn’t do audio loop recording/stretching, and no online loop browsing.
Playtime seems fairly basic unless I’m missing something (reaper is powerful, didn’t quite get inspired by Playtime too much, the UI isn’t very inviting  )

  • Playtime looks interesting if you are a reaper expert but doesn't look that user friendly
