Wow, one of those is "Hugh Padgham Drums".
I used to busk in New York where he saw me and listened for a bit.. He was recording "Lets Dance" at the time a d had to go... his wife stayed behind and asked for my info. He actually called me but I wasn't home. Nothing really came of it by here's a letter from his manager after I sent him my demo tape. Guess he didn't like it, lol
I even have a letter like that from Frank Farrian, the Milli Vanilli guy.

  • As an amusing aside, here is an excerpt from a recent interview with Hugh Padgham:

"... all the studios have closed down virtually and how do you record a good drum sound in your bedroom? So now there are these ridiculously complicated sample drums where they get whoever to go into the studio and they do 20 million different samples of the same drum kit and you can spend hours and hours at home programming it up. "

  • Yeah, that's why I got an iPad Pro instead of a laptop. After a session where spent two hrs. auditioning sounds from Omnisphere and Komplete. I could have written theee songs.
    But did I? Nope.

A bit strange, the pricing of the Brandenburg Piano: on their site it says $ or € 9,99 but inapp it indeed costs 14,99. The pricing of the new Drums has the same issue.

I may save Elektronika Chillout for another time, but I am NOT leaving home without the Drums nor without the Piano. This is the type of stuff I love buying from IK given the loving care it puts into its sampletank libraries.

You ever consider making Sampletank Multitimbral via live mode?

  • SampleTank really needs an AU extension. If it was done in a similar way to iSymphonic it would extend its usefulness 100 fold.

Yeah, one that I can use in my Porsche while I eat Caviar.

    Sorry.

    Yes, I have.

Unfortunately, heating oil and food are getting in way of important things like.that.

Plus, I have an Air1 and an Air2 and an iPhone7plus.

Any spare money at this point will be used for hardware or related accessories.

For instance, I rather buy a Circuit or a Novation synth than another iPad.

Sampletank is amazing, it is just massive.

I would like to be able to pick and choose. I don't use the majority of sounds.

  • IK Multimedia has this thing that's hard to really communicate; the sounds in ST3 are good, some of them great, the Amplitube app has some good models and their hardware is reasonably priced and sound good.

But there's a generic sameness to a lot of their stuff and SampleTank is one where if it were laid out better & the sounds were beyond passable it could be huge. But it's always been kind of ehhh to me.

I like the demo of the Padgham drums but $15+ or more for some samples that sound very very distinctive, not versatile in a larger sense, it's pushing it.

Amplitube is full of the great name brands, the Fenders, the Marshalls, etc. But their distorted tones are THE WORST on iOS. Clean Fender amps are doable, but higain stuff sounds really lame.

AU's, a revamp or their pricing scheme & new interface is really needed to keep this one in that upper echelon of $20 pro level apps. Just my opinion...
