Roland TR77 Samples & Patterning
Hi out there.
One of my favourite (if not my very favourite) drums machines ever was the Roland TR77 (CR78 OK but not as good for me) - just love most of the sounds. Listening to it on 'Hiroshima Mon Amour' (John Foxx's Ultravox) just makes me grin. I would love one of these old time drummies modified to take midi sync and triggering. Being realistic I'm never going to get the readies together to be able to do this.
I would love to be able to use these sounds within a drum app and Patterning would be my no. 1 app choice for this.
Does anybody out there have TR77 samples I could load into Patterning as a kit? I'm none to hopeful but thought it worth asking the question.
I know Diode 108 has a TR77 box but I can't use Diode as I have problems syncing this app with either hardware or software and I'm not keen on the UI.
Thanks for reading.

Just extract them from the Diode-108 installation file
Thanks yug, will give that a go at weekend. Am a bit ignorant of manipulating iTunes files etc. but what the heck hopefully I'll suss it!
There are plenty of TR-707/727 samples available on the internet.
I'm using these two EXS-Files for Logic but the WAV files can easily be moved to other apps.

Also the Roland iOS Soundcanvas (if you have that) includes the TR-707/727 sounds.
Then again the 'extraction method' works too
Hi Samu, The TR77 was Rolands very first ever product from 1972 I believe, pre-dates the CR78/CR68. The TR-707/ 727 are completely different animals and much more modern in comparison.
Thanks
Ouch, missed that one ...
I personally love the CR78 sound
I do like if not love the CR78 but the TR77 - even better to my ears!!
I like its vintage look but I prefer my iPad and Patterning (or any other awesome drum machine app)
Probably been posted here before, but a great source of vintage drum machines here:

Ok that look a great site, big thanks. So I can download & extract the samples as .wav files - how do I then import them into Patterning as a kit?
Fully realise I should know this stuff but I don't - so apologies!!

It's really easy. A couple videos for you:
Many thanks much appreciated. Am at work now so will watch these tonight and get to grips with it. Also apologies for the double posting above - must be my age.
If you'd still like a nicely labeled (great for searching in Patterning), high quality, and quite large (multiple hits, repitched on tape) CR-78 sample library, message me.
can i have a copy as well please ?
Brilliant will do, many thanks
