@yug - I'm sorry you're tired of waiting. We know it's slow and want to make something better. There's a mountain of work to do before that happens though.

There's a known bug right now on iOS 9 that makes the new patch bar disappear. Are you on iOS 9? Upgrading to iOS 10 fixes this. We have a more pressing bug that we've been tracking down in the meantime: http://forum.audulus.com/discussion/1267/bug-bounty-solve-this-get-free-audulus-upgrades-for-life#Item_1

but once that's done, we'll fix that bug.

Yes, I'm on iOS 9 and can't upgrade to iOS 10 I'm afraid. So I'll wait for the fix. In the meantime, I think I'm gonna delete everything from some of the default patches and use them for my experiments

That more pressing bug looks really nasty, I'd hate to lose any amount of my work. I'll get back to you if I ever experience it.

    Thanks for your replies

  • @yug - thanks for your understanding and patience! That's a pretty inventive way to get a new patch - since you're waiting ATM if you want a gratis copy of desktop to use in the meantime, email me at [email protected]

An evovling manual, infinitely bus-useful user libraries and now customer service how must a man resist the upgrade?

I have a natural disaster to see off first (the remains of Cyclone Debbie) but I will be back unless washed away ... Audiobus forum keeping me sane right now, just. :)

  • @TheVimFuego stay safe and patch on!! :)

  • @Audulus_Mark Will do, people/pets/chickens first, insured stuff secondary.

  • Sandbagging, evacuation to Mother In Law and an unknown state of house for at least another day.

I suspect apps aren't going to be my priority for a bit, all safe apart from chickens whose whereabouts are TBD.

  • Liking the fact that you hang out on this form occasionally @Audulus_Mark that goes a long way to keeping interest up.

Other iOS modular fans, what does Adults offer that I may not be seeing? Anything truly unique on this one compared to the competing iOS modular apps?

  • Have been reading the Audulus website and have a few questions @Audulus_Mark

    1. Can you change the colour scheme? Dark backgrounds are difficult to read for many with less than perfect eyesight.
    2. Is there any notion of an external clock, MIDI or Ableton Link?
    3. Any interaction with AU, host or instrument/generator? (I know you support AU on Mac)

Have read through much of the documentation and am liking what I see so far. I might just take you at your word about the timeline in Audulus 4 and purchase this now as it seems that you do offer some things which I don't see elsewhere.

  • @Jocphone

    1. No, though we're getting this request more and more from people. The problem with changing the background color is that we'd probably have to shift other colors for it to look good - and part of the branding of Audulus is its color scheme. I find staring at white backgrounds for a long time eye-straining, so I like Audulus for that. But point taken!
    2. You can already send it an external MIDI clock, and Ableton Link is coming soon - probably along with the other MIDI improvements.
    3. What do you mean by interaction? You mean automation?

    Thanks for the replies @Audulus_Mark
    1. I always choose a light background, really hard to read otherwise.
    2. But is the opposite true, can you sync to other apps clocks? (DAWs in particular tend to insist on being master clock)
    3. Can Audulus host or be hosted is what I meant.

    1. This varies from person to person. I prefer white text on black if I'm reading things for a long time. But also, you're not necessarily reading anything in Audulus, are you? Are you saying that reading lots of in-app text is hard, or just at any given time looking at the app is hard on your eyes?
    2. I'm not sure that the opposite of what I'm saying is what you're saying I'm saying lol - What I said is "You can already send [Audulus] an external MIDI clock [from anywhere]." You can't send a MIDI clock out of Audulus since there's no MIDI out at the moment. You can send a CV clock signal out, however.
    3. There is an Audulus plugin that can be hosted, and eventually in the future you'll be able to host plugins, synths, effects, and other iOS AU3s in-app.
