Does anyone use Auria Pro in a live situation?
Overloud and Pro-R sound amazing together, maybe even better than my hardware guitar rig. And I'm finally in a situation where I can use my iPad instead of an amp in a live setting. Is there anyway to make this all work for a live application? The problem I see is how to easily change settings. Does anyone out there do anything similar? Is this a terrible idea?

I know @DerekBuddemeyer uses Overloud as his go to. Maybe he has done this?
I think AUM might be the ticket to making it all work. I'll make a channel with a bunch of sends that go to different tracks in auria with different effects. Then I can have a MIDI controller setup to mute and unmute the tracks in AUM so that they function like guitar pedals. It seems to be working so far.
Nice idea. I would just be happy if I could put Pro q2 on my main mix, might give it a try later with AUM.
I mainly use it for recording. Live would mean the use of a midi controller footboard and I just don't like the idea of that. A good multi effects board that I can go directly into the sound system with has always been my choice live
The major issue here is surely latency .
Doing some testing with my Air2 , Auria Pro will record audio @ new ! 32 samples buffer , but loading FabFilters causes a few glitches .
@64 samples I can any run 2 out of 3 of ProMB , Pro G & Pro-L . Latency is noticable but useable , but I couldnt play live @128 .
This is of particular interest to me as I was looking to buy some hardware dynamics .
I would be very interested to know if the Ipad Pros can use ProMB/ProG & ProL @ 32 samples ..if so I might be looking at the next gen of iPadMini ( assuming Pro CPU) instead.
After some experimentation with Aum I'm sure it's possible, but not really worth the effort. I'd probably be better off just using Auria itself now that I really think about it. Latency wasn't a problem for me, but I'm on an iPad Pro and I didn't go lower than 128 on the buffer because that seemed good enough. I may try ToneStack since it's more tailored for this kind of use and can also host other apps. I'm always really conflicted about hardware vs software. I have some very nice hardware, but I love the convenience of the iPad and I truly don't feel that either necessarily sounds better than the other. And there's so much more flexibility with the iPad. Especially when it comes to integrating looping or backing tracks. And I always have my iPad with me anyway. It's nice to be able to carry my entire rig in a gig bag on my back.
Ipad pro at 32 ? Hmm...No, but maybe with a Fireface UFX or something like that.
At 128 and 4/5 apps I've got glitches relatively fast. Fast enough to say I wouldn't try in a live situation for an hour gig.
But if you don't play the guitar, or a live instrument, 256 is very stable and usable. 128 might work, but not as stable...
The saga continues. I got the iRig HD 2 and did a whole practice with just my iPad running Amplitube. It was amazing! Sounded great and no trouble at all with latency. I just wish Amplitube supported IAA effects so I could easily integrate Crystalline and control it all via blueboard. I know Tonestack and Bias Fx can, but I'm partial to Amplitube.
iRig HD 2 is working great, got a Blueboard and it is also working great (though I run it via the blueboard app, for some reason that just works better for me), and I've experimented and settled on using ToneStack for a variety of reasons. Reasons such as it has a built in limiter, it's universal so I can always have a backup rig waiting on my iPhone, it can host IAA (not flawlessly, but I came up with a solution), it Is very low latency, and it has the most flexible signal routing and MIDI settings. And, after much comparing with Amplitube at home and in a live setting, it just sounds better. I also picked up Bias FX, but it has been plagued with bugginess pretty much the whole time, so despite sounding very nice it is impossible for me to rely on for live performance.
I really have to rave about ToneStack. Especially considering IK, Positive Grid, and Line 6 are all pretty big in the guitar amp and effect simulation world, Yonac is kicking all of their asses. Bias FX is the only one competing, but it is let down for now by it's unreliability.
Still not missing playing with real amps and effects.
