Oscilab crashing AUM

Just wondered if anyone's having issues with Oscilab in AUM - every time I try and record with it loaded up it crashes AUM. Pain in the bum as I've lost a really good jam session.

Comments

  • Yep not working

  • I had no crashes using Oscilab in AUM and recorded audio from within Oscilab and as a track in AUM or recording separate tracks in AUM while Oscilab was loaded. Using an iPad Air 2 with iOS 10.2.1, AUM 1.1, and Oscilab 1.5.8.

Weird. I tried again after a reboot several times and crashed out AUM every time. Started from scratch and reloaded the same apps in the setup and this time it worked.

This is why I can't use an iPad in a live setting, too damn flaky.

  • lots of trouble recently with Oscilab, probably the last update spoilt the party
(no IOS changes here) or some other update is the culprit.
I almost exclusively use it to generate midi notes/controllers.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do - I've got it triggering Nave and Addictive, both hosted in AUM and a channel for Oscilab itself. Have to load Oscilab first anyway otherwise it doesn't work, but seems to randomly crash the setup.

Frustrating as it's a great app. Wish I hadn't updated it now.

I've played with it a great deal since I bought it several weeks ago. Mostly not loaded in AUM, but standalone. Last night I played with it for over an hour loaded into AUM and had no problems at all. It was loaded into AUM and also driving external synths loaded into AUM as well.

    Never even a hiccup.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact my install is a fresh, updated install and your's is an updated install? Perhaps a complete delete, reboot, and reinstall fresh might do the trick?

Also, no problems with my iPhone 5 install.

I'm using an iPad Air 2 with the latest iOS.

  • It glitched out on me just last night whilst in AB, godawful digital static ensued & I had to quit everything. Bit of a pity as it was the first time in an age that I'd attempted to do anything with it & had just got to that 'this could turn into something interesting' moment

  • Just tried it with an AUM/Animoog/ODYSSEi setup on the iPhone SE - seemed to be alright, until I started playing with the pads and then it bombed out.

Tried Oscilab loaded into AUM, driving Animoog, iWAVESTATION, and Pads. Using drums in Oscilab. All running together while playing the joystick and pad in iWAVESTATION.

    No hiccups at all.

Curious... Have you tried deleting Oscilab, hard restart, then install Oscilab fresh instead of an updated install?

Not yet on the iPad, but the majority of replies in the thread are mentioning issues as well so there's obviously something up. The phone test was a fresh install as I didn't have it on here previously

Guess I must be lucky then. I tried to overload and crash it but couldn't. Seemed rock solid no matter what I did. Good luck figuring it out though. Cheers

  • in my case it's more doing strange things with midi, than crashing - and it used to be very reliable before. Unfortunately I can't relate it to any specific update action.

  • I remember a few mnths back having problems with oscilab crashing (and taking audio with it) when sync'ing with external gear, beatstep pro as master. Its what made me go with midilfo which I also find difficult to midi sync but it doesnt crash. Oscilab is a pretty cool universal sequencer though but for crazy lfos its midilfos for me, (cant wait for the Link update)
