Is it worth to upgrade? Ipad mini 2 to ipad mini 4
Hi beloved, it's been a while.
Could anybody confirm: is it worth to spend extra 130-150 british thingie which you usually exchange for candies, for upgrade?
I have mini 2 would love to stay with mini 'line' and.. still didn't bought AUM but its on priority list. I'm worried because while I'm using Audiobus I get a lot of system crash, or glitchy cpu overload (a lot as for today, it kinda reminds me my first laptop i used, now average washing machine has more powerfull cpu tho. These aren't sweet ass memories..) Don't know what to do, with aum it might be a nightmare, and ipad mini 4 isn't much more powerfull than mini 2. Should I wait for mini 5 ? Or is mini 4 the last mini? Any advice will be appreciate.

It seems new iPad pro iteration will come sometime this year (this month?)... the rumour also points to a similar formfactor but bezel-free one.

So wait a few, check if rumour is legit and purchase what do you need at best price you can afford. Mini 4 is very well balanced specs but if similar iPad pro emerge soon, go for it IMO. I buy mini 4 due I love the size and a year ago wasn't any clue about pro update and I don't regret the purchase
If I hear your story I think it's worth it for you just for the sole reason it has 2GB ram. If the rumors are right ther will be new iPads announced this month. There will be an iPad Mini Pro. Probably faster processor and better camera but the same 2GB and much more expensive. So my bet is you won't harm yourself to upgrade to a mini 4. And what is probably also a point is that if your selling your mini 2 you will probably get a lot more for it than after the announcement of the Pro's because it will get out Apples catalogue.
Prices of mini 4 will most likely go down a bit if they release some new mini ipad. So might be a good idea to wait a bit, even if they doesent release anything he would buy.
As said above the trick with new Apple stuff is to get rid of it before Apple will ditch it, if you want to earn something on your older iOS device. With the intro of the Pro, the iPad Mini 4 will be the base model, probably they will lower the price somewhat but the Mini 2 will be ditched which means that you will get a lot less if you offer it second hand.
As said the second hand value of your old device will also go low much lower as Apple will ditch the Mini 2. So if you plan to sell your old device you will make less money from it. My experience is thta because lots of people buy the newest model after the introduction the 2nd hand market will be flooded with older older devices which means a lower price tag...
Thanks guys.
Mannix are you sure new ipad mini will remain 2gb of ram? There is no confirmation regarding this.
As for second hand market. Here in Poland, you can buy ipad mini 2 16gb unlocked cellular (which I own) for 150-160 brits. Mine is a bit scrathed on the back so maybe worth 140-145. Right now.
I don't think price will drop significantly after Ipad mini pro will be anounced or even reach the market. Maybe 10% or so. Not a big deal. So maybe it's worth to wait? On the other hand I have a sadness in my heart, so a new toy would be neat. Kinda my brain is playing tricks on me. Ughhh hate for such artificial lifestyle tendencies.why me
I got an iPad Mini 4 shortly after it came out and I've yet to encounter anything that gives it trouble. You get the odd crackle when switching apps in an IAA session but everything else is rock-solid.
It's got the same processor as the iPhone 6, which still holds up well, but be warned that the iPad Mini 4 / iPhone 6 are the minimum supported devices for Alchemy in GarageBand. There's a chance that it will start to show its age more and more over the next year, especially as Apple starts focusing on the Pro line.
Talk me a bit about this... i've notice it but I wasn't aware about being common bug!
Of course not 100% certain. But so far only the first version of the 12 inch iPad Pro got 4GB ram. Besides that all iPad Pros have 2GB ram and even the iPhone 7 has 2GB ram. So would be a good guess to say it will feature 2GB.
Agree with your point. But in the end it of course comes also down to budget
Hope the headphone jack won't be missing in next ipads.. I think I will wait. It's march already, so they should announce next generation really soon.
I've got a taboo question. Sorry I won't do my homework first, but maybe someone experienced it, or know well. If I sell ipad preloaded with aps(first I will reset it to default settings, than install those which buyer will chose) but log out from my apple/itunes account, am I safe? Really really safe?
New owner won't be able to upgrade those apps, and once deleted, they are gone forever, but can he upgrade ios and still use them?
Um... sure why not.
But make sure you disable ICloud or you're going to have their stuff uploaded into yours and vice versa.
Thank you LucidMusicInc
I havn' thought about iCloud, so otherwise I would left it in sync.
you probably want to get a new Apple ID too, deleting any and all payment and contact info from your existing one.
