  • Ahh, thanks, will be there early before they sell out ;)

  • Worth every penny! Go get it if you don't have it...

  • Can it run on an iPad 2/3? The AU will not, I get it, but will the standalone app work?

Unfortunately not. The standalone app is actually a mini-AU-host, which hosts the Troublemaker plugin. So it has the same minimum requirements as the AU plugin itself.

  • Linky?

Does this just make 303 style noises or can it do other things?

And Jakob Haq's live exploration video:

  • @brambos can I make a request for a "Stevie-Wonder-funky-clav-in-a-box" app? I can almost get there by exporting multiple troublemaker MIDI files but it's tedious.

  • Sale is ON now, just got it...THANKs @brambos

  • I've scheduled a '303 day' post for tomorrow morning on http://www.facebook.com/oscarsouthbass with recommendation and link for Troublemaker.

Hopefully it'll send some new people your way!

  • @brambos You need to work on your marketing. ;) At least put a sale teaser in the thread title or give us a link.

I think he's done a great job with the marketing, nice concept, good collateral, suspect he just needs a coordinator to tie the loose ends together :)

  • @brambos

Off topic slightly, but I think you should seriously consider making an AU host app.

    Reasons for my thinking:

You have good layout direction going on in your apps.
Your Trouble Maker sequencer was top notch for ease of use and shows you have good design skills for making the input devices needed for each AU. A drum one with similar design ethos for your Ruismaker apps would be cool. Then just a keyboard design to fit in with this direction too.

I'm thinking similar to a cut down AUM. Just for AU, or with an input channel to host other stuff in AUM and then mix it through your AU host. Separate outs to go to whatever DAW we want for recording. Maybe a built in 4 track tape recorder just for fun.

Not a do everything host, just a great and easy to use AU host where simplicity of use is key. Designed primarily for your own apps.

Couldn't agree more. So refreshing to have an app designer with with such a clean, strong graphic sense. I just with that I had a use for this app! It's not exactly a subtle sound. It would be like buying the greatest, most awesome green furry Kangol like I had in 1992. I mean, it's PERFECT, but when am I ever going to wear this?

  • i honestly wish i could throw more money at you. any chance i could tempt you to make a link enabled better thesys ? :p

    Perfect marketing concept 303! :)

btw anybody interested in a tb303 domainname. PM me for more info :)

  • I've already got the other 3 Brambos apps but not this one yet.

    Any good? ;)

I think I missed the launch of this one while traveling, but added it to my list. Watched a couple demo videos and mostly intrigued by the sequencer portion. Does troublemaker have midi out and if so, can you use just the sequencer to control external synths while muting the internal sound?

depends. do you like the 303 ? troublemaker doesnt have midi out but you can export sequences directly into any daw you like or audioshare.

I was being facetious with the "Any good?" question. :)

I like the sounds of what I've heard. I'm finding that I may not be the biggest FM sound fan, but some of it's palatable. But, as I mentioned... what I found most attractive about Troublemaker is the sequencer part.

I'll pick this up anyway to support a good dev and have a little fun with that sequencer, but I was hoping I could use it to drive other stuff too. Will try the midi export and see if that's all I really need/want. thx

  • For me, this was an instabuy.

Here's how I use it. I take the init, and then I set the notes to a subset from the scale I'm working in. Then I accent activate a few notes, accents, and ties, and then keep hitting random variations.

…did I mention I have funk drummer running in the background?

  • One thing puzzles me though....scales...where do you find them?

    Excellent app

  • Would buy it again if I didn't already... Wish you good sale tomorrow :)

You couldn't buy it again if you hadn't already. ;)

  • And vice versa :D

You don't. See my post above about manually setting the notes to a scale. Variations will stick to that scale. In fact, they will even retain notes, accents, and ties, just mix them around.

  • @brambos Bought it. Dig it! Using on Air 2, but again... as with all of your apps, contrary to the description, they all work fine on a 32bit iPhone 5 running latest ios10. Tried standalone, as AU in AUM, and GB. All worked perfectly. :)

Maybe also time for some other devs (Propellerhead Rebirth) to take over this great 303 initiative by Bram Bos!

btw remember there was once an iPhone version of Rebirth. Anyone know why they took it from the appstore?

  • Such a great app.

@brambos I would love it if random didn't randomise the number of steps. Then you could just choose the number of steps you want for a track and hit random over and over until you land on something tweakable.

    Buy it peeps.
