    Very simple workflow.i use a backingtrack ( usually you tube) and play on top of it ( live).
    Always in one take.i love these challenges.
    I use a rivera bonehead( steve lukather model), a musicman luke,and a few pedals ( suhr,wampler,earthquaker,fulltone,mxr,seymour duncan,and two wah wah.
    That's ok?

    Well...I'm not a huge fan of Steve Vai, I was more into Joe Satriani...But...You made me discover and like his music ! (which I found very close of Satriani, at least on this track )
