Layr and the rise of the scientific super synth
Scientific super synth is a riff on the "scientific super cake" from the kids book "Mr Lunch Takes an Airplane Ride", in which the titular Mr jumbled the luggage of a master chemist and a master chef, and a super layer cake results, that includes every possible flavor...
Apps that layer fully fledged synths is the idea: Sunvox, AUM, FLSM and now a stack of synths in a synth: Layr

I'm not sure what I'm reading here.
Yes, that children's book sounds wondrous though
I guess I'm noting the advent of something I find kind of amazing to play with on iOS, sound design powers like those available in Falcon on Mac/PC. A synthnerdy celebration..
I take it you're diggin' it? Did you by it and are using the wrong build? Or, are you using a newer beta version? And, from what I've heard so far, it sounds like many of the sounds could be easily created in SunVox too. Have you made anything with it yet to share?
Nothing to share yet, digging it, on the wrong build too. Nice to be able to build this way without involving a whole daw...though you're right Sunvox does have a few advantages - sample based voices, for one. Never tried as many separate synths in Sunvox as Layr promises
I have read the book, and it is great.
What he said, but with a Swedish accent.
Forgot to mention Caustic in the list with its merge rack to instrument tool.
After reading @Carnbots post elsewhere about using AUM as the hub of a supersynth, for layering AU and IAA stuff, including a fx, and sending that out to a DAW, (either as a single channel or split channels), i'd have to say that's an amazing way to do ultra rich and detailed soundesign with the best iOS synths, and something that has been sitting in front of my face for a while.
Layr has the advantage of a one-stop interface and easier cc access per Channel, and includes per voice parameters I haven't seen on any other iOS synths...
