Apps that can record automation in Auria?

Was messing around in Auria Pro earlier and recording some automation in Fab Filter Saturn & WOW.

Some of the apps on the pull down list at the top are in white type. The AUs are in green, and the rest are in blue type. I can record automation in any of the top fx in white, but not the green AU fx.

I figured that maybe Auria doesn't support recording AU parameters, but all of the AU fx have the little R/W at the top that can be selected for recording automation, only none of the parameter changes get recorded. Are you supposed to be able to record automation of AUs? If so, what am I likely doing wrong?

Comments

  • I am fairly sure the only automation written, read & saved is all the mixer stuff of course, the stock effects (the Convolution Reverb, etc) and then all of the IAP plugins from the Auria store.

If anyone knows different please, let us know...

  • There is no actual support of au's parameters. You gotta map those to midi.

  • Was just wondering because the AU's still have that R/W at top right and it appears as if you can activate the read/write for automation. But, none of them do anything so I assumed it just wasn't supported. Thanks

  • I'm going to admit to not being the sharpest tool in the box here, but I've never really got the hang of assigning midi cc's (that's what we're talking about here, right?) in Auria, or in anything for that matter. Is there a good place for me to look for help? Couldn't really figure it out from the manual. It's probably v straightforward so I apologise in advance!

A workaround for Auria Pro audio unit controlling using Aum.

Open Aum, add iSem auv3 as input on a track.
Open Auria Pro, in mixer view, add a midi track with Instrument=none, arm.
Add a stereo track, tap (FX) and insert Kymatica: AUM (Port 1), arm,
set the track's output to Sub1, turn down the volume on the Sub1 track.
In Aum select the first track's output to IAA / AB Output 1 (Auria icon),
on a second track set the input from Inter-app audio/Auria Pro/Auria Pro Sub 1.

In Auria, tap (FX) on the midi track, and for midi output select CoreMidi: AUM.

Change to track view, in the piano-roll enter some notes, choose a cc,
for example Undefined (CC20), draw your curve.

In Aum, open the menu, go to Midi Route, make connections between 'AUM' Destination -> iSem@Ch 1 and -> Midi Control, enter Midi Control, choose 'AUM' Destination, go back, and on CHAN 1 > in Parameters > enter the channel (=1) and cc (=20) for say cutoff (VCF Freq).

Tap play (if you haven't already) :)
