I think of Blocs Wave as more of a riff library for possible use in musical projects. The same for Launchpad, although both are liable to inspire a moment all their own.
I agree. You can load up a nice beat in Blocs and a great rhythms guitar loop and let that inspire.
I can recommend the Launchkey Mini as a controller if you like the Blocs/Launchpad integration and you are after a compact controller.
I don't believe this is currently possible. It would certainly be nice to be able to do a sync/transfer of projects between installations of the app on different devices the way you can between Blocs Wave and Launchpad on the same device. If someone knows how to transfer a project between devices, I'd be very interest to know how to do it as well.
I really wish there was a way to quickly merge 'tracks' in Blocs. Makes me value that function in Loopy all the more....maybe one day.
I deleted the app after a week playing. Not my style , I found it way limited and preferred ReSlice , LoopyHD/ LooptunesHD combo.
ReSlice has pitch shifting and external control (perfect companion for my vestax pad one) but I only think in it as feed for blocswave :P
Bought it and was dissapointed. It offers nothing new really
Utterly disagree.
+1
Yeah sure. We have 2 pages of the same quoted message (from the future) on and on because you nailed it. :V
Sarcasm mode: off
Compared to what? How do you feed so easily launchpad app (being even cheaper than its own sample import IAP)?
How (which sample loop based app) do you build fastest song arrangements (intro, bridge, chorus...)?
Maybe you want to say "I'm dissapointed because it doesn't fit my workflow"?
In your defence, I get that. It's not my cuppa either, not because there's anything wrong with it, but just because I prefer Loopy. I also bought the new Looperverse from Retronyms, but still prefer Loopy![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
It's just personal choice, some things gel better with some individuals than others. I've had 3 serious attempts at getting on with Beathawk and I just can't write anything decent with it, which is a shame as I've spent money on the IAPs. Whereas in Gadget I'm writing and producing straight away. Dunno why, it's just a mystery.
You gotta go where the juices flow.
Agree..thanks Richard
You like the app, I don't
You find it useful, I don't
It's that simple mate..no hate
All the best
So that's a matter of taste in YOUR case not of features as I stated. Can you answer my questions?
That's an opinion trying to become a fact. No hate in this statement neither.
The true facts are:
- it makes a perfect combo to Launchpad app (free, no need for any IAP)
Just for the record, slicing and export at 5€ (when it's not in sale at 2'99€) makes a perfect entry level. Launchpad integration makes it unique (better than "new" in my world)
So if you get pissed off, be rigorous at your statements instead talk like facts. Here we are trying to help OP not trying to convince anyone as "perfect fit" in their workflow. It has also cons for sure.
So it has some new features that in some workflows could be considered cool and in others redundant so... its worth?
It will depend on workflow obviously but bang for buck/features it's a worthy purchase.

At present I use GarageBand and gadget and can build tracks fast without the use of a looper...i don't use launchpad and was not under the impression that blocswave was made to use with it alone
As far as my workflow goes I like to sequence tracks or record ambient live
What about you?
Well,
I use blocswave to build song parts (feeded by other apps sometimes like iMini, iPolysix, etc) and then export to Launchpad and use it for live gigs or record live with launchkeys realtime mangling.
From there I import (stereo file) into garageband to add more things (usually vocals) and recently I found blocs/launchpad also can save to icloud so it's possible to import into garageband live loops also (even separated loops) or to dropbox (scenes as zip files). Use it as IAA aside ReSlice (which has better pitchshifting and midi support) with Vestax pad (xy controls pitch/filter), Beathawk2 (great as AU for improved garageband multisampling duties) and of course Alchemy and other plugs.
Garageband lacks in controller mapping for live loops so I find faster export from Blocs to Launchpad and if I need full midi control then go for GTL route. Feeding all the other apps inside blocs makes me focus on play well instead dealing with midi and automation in garageband since sometimes it doesn't makes things straightforward (ie live loop clip edition needs to many "clicks" and sometimes get you back with missing touches at tiny icons). For open the option tools you need double touch/maintained which cuts the flow, etc... One of my favourite tools but for loops not so fast compared to blocs IMHO of course.
About gadget nothing to say since I haven't it (stepped price and I think twice new purchases nowadays due to Lemur, Modstep, iMPC pro, Beatmaker 2... which has not use in my devices anymore but I can sell/donate due apple policy) but standalone allinone aren't my cup of tea neither even when I think it seems a great app due it big user community (as Auria pro which neither fits my needs)
Thanks for share and make worth the discussion again and thanks for ask. I hope any idea/info I shared makes your workflow easy or better.
Peace.
If you work with lots of samples and sampled loops then there is no better app for mixing and matching those loops into a track....and then use the Launchpad to 'perform' it
It has many other uses as well like providing Link timed audio track(s) for Gadget and ModStep, and even Cubasis if you use MIDI Link Sync.....
A true utility app that can also stand it's own ground.
Ok, glad u guys find it useful
It's just not for me that's all
Ok i have understand, this App is Not for you. Fine
@Love3quency
You mentioned having bought KRFT. What was it about that one that got you off the fence? How have you gotten on with it since?
KRFT allows for far more expressivity and is so unique in many ways..it does things in many ways differently
I've not used it much the last few weeks though...
