Medly - 03-30-17 Update [Crash Fixed, new version out and looking good.]

Just installed this on Pro/Latest and when opened, crashes out immediately. Might want to hold off until fix is confirmed. Did re-boot/restart etc. Release notes below:

Comments

  • Still can't record live with a keyboard onscreen or off? I don't get it. I just don't get it

Can't do anything right now as the thing just instadies.

  • UPDATE: Heard from the guys at Medly. They're apologetic and they assure us they're on it. Must suck for them, you do all the stuff, release it and there's some chewing gum on the wheel. Sure they're busy fixing as we speak, gawd bless 'em.

  • Thanks for the heads-up Sir Johnny!

  • Okay - we think we solved the problem - and we're just waiting on Apple now. Hopefully we can get an expedited review from Apple and get the fix out in the next hour or two. This issue seems to be isolated to people that downloaded the Trance Pack before November.

The problem is caused with our instrument pack versioning, where we made a few changes to the way we read and handle them, and that one slipped through the cracks. I don't want to go into the technical details, because it would be very long.

But I will say this bug was actually pretty pesky one to solve. The amount of head scratching was tremendous, since we actually couldn't get any remote crash logs - the app crashed so early in its launch cycle. On top of that, we weren't able to reproduce it on our devices. We eventually got lucky and got our hands a device that had the Trance Pack before November - and solve the problem for there.

Sorry again about the bug - but will update this post once the fix is out. If you want to checkout the new instruments, we have them posted on our site at http://medlylabs.com

Re @db909: we released this update now rather than our big 4.0 because we wanted current users running 32-bit devices to have access to these instruments, and for current users to get some new tools until the 4.0 come out - which is definitely taking a little longer than we expected.

  • Sorry about the bug - fix (3.4.1) should be out now.

Also, one thing that's not documented: we also fixed MIDI export for Drums, where it now (mostly) maps to general MIDI (unfortunately, some drum sounds couldn't be mapped - but they'll still export just above the GM drum range).

  • Fix is in, things are working, well done @baldajan and team. Quick reaction and effective etc. Looking forward to getting amongst it later....

  • Fast response from a great team with a great app.
