cubasis sync?

No, Cubasis will act as a MIDI Clock Master but not a slave so you would have to sync your external clock to Cubasis.
But you can sync link enabled apps with Cubasis master clock. Its a free app "MidiLinkSync"
This is true...Cubasis however still has to be the Master clock so any tempo changes made in linked apps will not be reflected in Cubasis.
IT really is about time both Cubasis and Auria Pro were Link enabled.
This is the main reason why I currently do not use much audio...preferring to stick with Midi, any audio I do use is either in blocs wave or launchpad as these both have link.
Only when i have committed to a BPM for a track will I record any audio into Cubasis or Auria.
Auria and Cubasis now both have timestretch capability so perhaps we are getting closer![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Same here. Having sync in Cubasis be such a pain in the keester is why I record audio into AUM and Blocs only using apps with Link. This limits you to making loops in isolation and not laying them out on a timeline as you would in a DAW.
All those issues above are exactly the reason why AU rules.
I am interested to see how well Looperverse works....this would give me what I want audio recording wise...waiting for confirmation on how the export works to see if it is easy to get audio into blocs/launchpad from it.
and it takes a fair few takes to get back into the groove
It has link and also has footswitch control for recording... much needed when playing two handed...all too often I get something cool going, stop playing to start recording and then the rhythm is gone
Can you please elaborate.. yet to see why AU is an alternative to Link..
Thanks..
I don't know if this will ever happen because for any app to use Link requires the audio to be massively time stretched to fit the tempo and that's asking a lot for a DAW to do on top of the heavy stuff it already does.
You could search for it but I seem to recall developers of both of these DAWs saying it was not likely to happen.
@AndyPlankton I wondered the same thing about looperverse, but haven't been reading that thread after I saw Retronyms was the dev.
I saw that it had Link and appears to have a DAW-like timeline. May need to reconsider.
I just bought it this afternoon as I have been assured it works with IK Blueboard and I can get audio out using audio copy...and they hope to add Open In......not completely banking on the 'Open In' but at least there is hope.
I have not yet had a chance to have a go with it but it looks very promising at the moment.
Because you dont need to connect apps anymore. With au the app is part of your daw and just opens inside your daw like a vst instruments on a pc.
Ok.. only messed with AU in Mobstep...
Not that playfull there..
Thanks
Right, so there must be a reason they're not, right?
I think it's the bidirectional nature of link that causes a compliance issue. It has to be a ton of work for a daw designed to handle tons of tracks to make a tempo change right? In terms of a daw with a tempo track, it at least it has the ability to "see it coming" and allocate resources to it - but for a random change from link it seems it would be hard for daw makers, especially on an iPad, to guarantee a seamless performance.
-And traditionally, and I know I'm dated here, I recall even on PCs many daws worked the same way - only being a master clock. I'd have to guess the current version of Live works with external clock, but are there others? Logic, Cubase, etc?
Personally, from my uneducated view, for iOS I'd think it take Ableton creating a one way sync; something daw makers could use to send a more reliable sync, for iOS, tied to their tempo tracks, but offer that superior to midi clock.
Just some thoughts from from pondering the first question....
Truth. I was just experimenting with ARPs as AU in GarageBand: Alchemy, iSEM, Addictive Pro and BeatHawk all in sync with no drama.
Would love to see a shrunk down version of Patterning as an AU
