Windows 10 + iFunbox 4.0 Build 4105.1352 (x64). iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.5
Just tried to install iMaschine v.1.2.1 on my iPhone via iFunbox (I always keep the latest to ipa files for every main apps) installing the ipa file. Success.
When I try to extract the file iFunbox tells me "devices with iOS 8.3 or earlier".
I don't know if it's your case.

Yes, I'm doing this as I type for my iPad 3 iOS 9.3 with iTunes on my PC in preparation for a possible purchase of the new iPad 7.
Just download the apps from purchased apps within your account.
How to install them on another device should be possible but I'm not sure what that process will be until (or if) I get another one.
Edit: I just saw the above post so perhaps it's not possible unless the devices have the same iOS?
it doesn't work for me because even when i transfer my iphone purchases to itunes there is nothing in the good old itunes"mobile apps"sub folder. It's empty.
I tried to save the app with imazing but that's just not possible anymore. It creates a file but only with app data, not the app itself. And when i want imazing to install the app from a full phone backup,it says i need to download it from the app store first bla bla...which would be the latest version of this app again (that i don't want).
