App for auto launching other apps
To play my keyboard rig, i have to launch about 9 apps, in a certain order. Does anyone know an app that could that automatically from a list? - that would be amazing!
Comments
Yes, it could be great, I don't know
You ought to be able to find something here:

Doesn't look like they can open any app you own, only a selected list - can anyone throw any light on to this? My goal is to open a launcher app and click 'keyboard rig' and it would open all the apps i have pre chosen in the order I chose
The thing is that launcher apps only open apps they support and usually not many music apps. It's one of the annoying things about iOS that you can't organise apps and launch them in custom ways easily.
Workflow app has recently been made free recently and acquired by Apple I think. It's got potential. You can set up chain of events like app openings. You can request that an app be supported. I've just requested AUM be supported but would be good if everyone requested loads of music apps.

If you mean midi apps then maybe Audiobus 3 might do it not sure yet.
Before jumping on the bandwagon (Workflow), you might want to read this

Take for what it is, but I'm generally suspicious when things look too good to be true.
Seems like a reasonable privacy policy to me and actually does a decent job of warning users about being careful about including personal information in Workflows they share. There are always benefits/risks associated with these types of services and Workflow's approach to this seems par for the course.
Workflow looks potentially good - you can manually put in your music apps URL to open - doesn't need to be listed, and it does work BUT, it looks like it can't open more than 1 at a time because it wont work in the background - big shame :-(
Audiobus?
You can (could) open the apps' .api package and see if each app has an exposed URL scheme. Not sure if you can do it anymore, due to changes to .ipa file in iOS 10. I was able to get Audiobus, AB Remote, Audioshare, AUM and Elastic Drums working in Workflow. Most others wouldn't work.
What apps do you need to open for your keyboard rig?
IAA and AU apps can open in the order you set in AUM. Hopefully Audiobus 3 can auto launch midi apps. Not sure how that will work yet.
Audiobus 3
Any idea when this will be released? I don't see much enthusiasm for it here.![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
If I'm hoping correctly - are you saying AB3 will open all the associated Synth/midi apps automatically? And as someone else asked, are the mute and volume functions in the AB3 mixer controllable via an external midi controller? - if so, MainStage and my MacBook, can stay at home ;-)
I think it's only going to work with apps that are updated to the AB3 sdk
Great, automatic launching apps is a thing i want since years in iOS because if i load an Audiobus patch with 10 apps and have to launch them all manually it is a pain.
But if i understand it all of the apps have to support state saving on it´s own (which isn´t automatic included with Audiobus 3) on top when you want your exact last set-up?!?
Exactly. And AUX, of course.
