Cool track. Which app have you used for this?
Thanks, @cuscolima! BeatHawk sounds were used a lot ... some iMaschine, and a few drum loops and bits from Launchpad. It's a mixture of iOS and desktop apps -- plus real instruments!
Like it. Kind of a 90s house track feel to it.

Thanks! Yes, real bass. Fender Jazz Bass. And yes, by far the hardest instrument for me to play on the track. But after drilling for a couple of days, I could pretend I was a bass player for a few hours.
Just had another listen. Great punch and tone on it. May I ask about how you recorded it (the bass)?
It was a Fender Jazz Bass into a Sans Amp GT2 stompbox on the "Tweed" setting into the DAW. Then some EQ and 1176 compression in the mix. Mostly played with a pick, combined with fingers for slappy pull notes. (Very hard for me, but I managed to pull it off -- pardon the pun.)

By the way, if you ever need bass in the future (not that your bass doesn't sound great - it definitely does) don't hesitate to ask.
I may need to check out that "tweed" setting- I don't have the gt2, I use a vt, but I bet their tweed fender pedal does something similar.
That's a huge amount of upbeat fun. Just sitting here on a sunny (finally) Sunday morning and contemplating the day, and this just slid right into that. Perfect.

Yes, Jakob has been a part of many of these pieces, either in the form of samples or contributing inspiration or musical grooves or tracks that I built upon. But my dear haQ seems to have escaped this time around.
In terms of monitizing… To some extent I suppose that is a problem within the whole industry now with the collapse of the traditional model on many levels. There are still problems that would have to be sorted out (sample clearance, etc.) … then you get into trying to conform to certain fixed rules about genres, song length, making things fit into some sort of package. As it stands, I don't have to worry about any of that and can go off in any direction, any style, 1-min.-song, 10-min.-song, whatever, and not have to think about any that. I'm enjoying the total creative freedom. But yes there is certainly a limit to how much more time one can continue to devote to something that yields zero income. That's the kind of thing I meant by "figure out what I'm doing." :-)
