Even though I am a blunderer, I got midiSTEPS a little while ago and have really enjoyed it, can you share any quick insight into what MidiLFOs offers you?

Lfos to twiddle anything in gadget that you can record the automation into. With link these lfos works in perfect time too. This alone makes it super useful. Only thing stopping it from being essential before was the lack of ableton link. The lfos can modulate each other to create really interesting automation curves.

I think it's much like applying Oscilab-like treatments to any of your midi learning synths. I don't own it, mind, but am thinking about it now.

Yes!! I've wanted this since day one. Five stars!

The midi routing and options in Mr. Kerns apps are so solid, and ergonomic. Great example for how to be complete and usable at the same time.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear Yeah, I know it doesnt make any sound but I like to see knobs moving on my synths, as if by magic. Cutoff going up and down while your messing with other settings is really good for discovering sweet spots of the filter. Before midiLFOs I was using Oscilab and moving the cutoff of my early fav synths z3ta and Sunrizr which both have their own LFOs but there native ones didnt give any visual feedback. The same is true of my latest fave, Addictive Pro. You can set the internal LFOs but unless you use an external one like MidiLFOs you dont see the controls move.
The other cool thing about LFO for me is making risers (maybe there called transitions), reverb increasing over 8 bars gradually with filter and maybe delay all adding to a white out crescendo increasing over 8 bars and then disappearing. This is where you need to sync, and this was difficult before. Now its a sinch with Link. Love it to pieces.

  • midiSTEPs really is The perfect entry into iOS MIDI-made-simple sequencing with so much control potential beyond said entry. The update just expanded all of that. Thank you @artkerns !
