Quick Track made with the new Audiobus 3!

Here's a quick track I made during my lunch break using Audiobus 3!

StepPolyArp driving Poison 202, Baervaag, iSem, and Enkl
Routed into, mixed, and recorded in AUM
Sent to Auria Pro for final mixing/quick mastering

Uploaded. All in less than 20 min!

@Sebastian thanks for all of your hard work on Audiobus 3, looks like I will be using it quite a bit!

  • So not to be lame, but couldn't you just do this in Aum? What benefit does AB3 add?

  • @raindro to your point, in this example I didn't utilize MIDI filters or anything particularly exclusive to AB3...

...but, from a workflow perspective, I loved being able to get a simple arp going in StepPolyArp then send it to multiple apps without having to dig into StepPolyArp's MIDI settings. The AB3 MIDI tab makes the MIDI routing super clear.

I used the AB3 simple mixer for gain staging, then I used the AUM mixer for automation during record.

I know that there's a tendency for people to get into the AUM vs AB argument, but in my opinion they work great together. To be honest, I didn't use AB2 very much - almost exclusively AUM. But with the MIDI capabilities added in AB3, I'll definitely be using both together.

Won't AUM midi matrix achieve the same thing just as quickly?

I'm playing with ab3 but since the midi supporting apps are limited I had to use AUM midi matrix to complement it.
