AB 3, midisplit, Korg Module, audio units-help ???
Questions:
1.) Korg Module has been my main sounds app but it doesn't show up in MF splitter for AB 3. How can I go about getting Module to work with MF splits?
2.) I would love to layer multiple instances of Korg Module sounds, is this possible, can Module be used as an audio unit?
Comments
If you have Gadget, that might be your way forward. Haven't specifically tried it (yet), but I will do so later. Anyway, creating like 4 instances of Salzburg (if indeed you want pianosounds) each with different MIDI channels should work. And Gadget IS AB3 ready.
There is no way to run multiple instances of Module afaik.
Sry - I don't where I got the perception that Gadget is AB3 ready. It is NOT. Yet.
Thanks for the reply! In another thread Sebastian mentioned reaching out to Korg in regards to AB3 readiness.
*Sebastian, can you please include Module in that conversation?
I'd hope he could convince them to go all the way to AU
@mptrin It can easlily be done just with the good old Midiflow and Gadget.

Example with 3 layers input remapped to 3 channels
3 instances af Salzburg listening to channels 1-3
And you've got three layers uf Module Pianosounds.
Thanks @DeVlaeminck, I don't own Gadget and have kind of avoided it as it has more bells and whistles than I think I need. Module is kind of perfect for me as a sound module for live performance. The Triton package in particular covers the majority of sounds I need. The only issue I've ever had with Module is the lack of split and layer. I had hoped AB3 and MF splitter would be a solution for me.![:/ :/](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
I was in the same boat. Didn't think Gadget was for me. I used module for live keyboards, and now I only use gadget to access module sounds. It's a great live performance tool even if you never use the piano roll.
You can load multiple layered instruments/synths at a time, and place multiple effects on each channel. With midiflow, it looks like you can easily program splits and layers too.
Quite frankly, it's ridiculous that you could get it for only $20 right now. The only thing you can't do is load your own effects apps to individual channels. You can only place one effect on gadget from an outside source as currently, gadget only has one channel output.
I hope someday that they'll make gadget an AB3 destination, and open up IAA/AU effects per channel running in gadget.
In that case, do you have iM1? Very similar to the Triton package (and with the iaps you get a huge library).

It's got a 8 part multi mode:
Thanks guys. So...iM1 allows for splits and layers right within the App? And Gadget can do it with Midiflow? If so, I'm not opposed to looking into these, however I must say that I'm not all that excited about starting with a new app and creating patches all over again![:( :(](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Also, I like the setlist feature of Module as well as its ability to store/load PDF sheet music.
*Some of these apps have unique features that you won't find in a hardware unit, yet at the same time I feel like such basic functions such as splits and layers require other apps or workarounds if you're even lucky enough for there to be a workaround. I don't know if it's just my own perspective/high expectation but I feel like any and every sound module app should allow splits and layers!
Ok, I'll stop complaining now and check out those apps
Thanks for the suggestions.
@JohnnyGoodyear said it perfectly in another thread about us cats who use MIDI in the basic sense (sequencing, MIDI controller, basic MIDI routing) being a bit overawed by the cornucopia of options AB3 & the MIDIFlow apps bring to the table.
I can follow this example clearly but was of the understanding the original MIDIFlow wasn't needed if you have AB3 & the MF apps. For example the routing of the different Gadget instances in the MIDIFlow example looks like the AB3 MIDI layout, but I suppose you wouldn't of suggested using the OG MIDIFlow if AB3 did the same thing.
I have AB3 and all of the new MIDIFlow apps, do I still need the original MIDIFlow to get the complete toolbox? I had read the original MIDIFlow was only for CoreMIDI, does that mean its good to have for older apps?
Thanks for the info...
